Monday, Memorial Day 2023

 - It’s not a day about sales, barbecues, switching from felt to straw hats…it’s a day to remember and honor warriors who have died fighting for our freedoms to have what we have. Warriors from all nations who fought with honor. It’s damn sure not a day to promote your agenda

- So, Ron deSantis is now officially a challenger in the POTUS race, as is Sen Tim Scott. Now begins the mud fest that has literally made me sick to my stomach.Trump is a proven positive commodity as President, deSantis as governor, Scott as senator. It is my genuine yet tragically naive hope that the three will dispense with the bullshit and work to make sure one of them is POTUS, instead of backbiting, mud slinging, and destruction politics.

- A Michigan State professor compelled her students to ‘contribute’ to a Planned Parenthood outfit has been sued by a professed Christian student.  The professor has been fired but the lawsuit continues. Just makes me wonder how many of these things happen but are never reported.

- It’s one thing to attend to political words with a critical ear, but the purposeful misdirection, taken out of context quotes, etc are just too much.  Saying “I miss the old days” is not an endorsement of slavery. To the best of my recollection this idiocy all started with Bill Clinton and the infamously moronic statement “depends on what the definition of is is.”  Politically correct speech and approved wordings are straight of 1984. Perhaps if we ALL cut through the bullshit and spoke directly, listened directly, and quit abiding by what media tells us to think, we can start to set the nation back on track.

- So…Bud Light is giving their beer away. I wonder if people who get their free ‘beer’ will have to pay any sales tax, or report the cost of the transaction as income. There just ain’t no free beer

- Seen: Harvard Law gives course credit for studying what a troop of monkeys can teach humans “for creating a society free of male sexual coercion.”  This is where we are now

- I’m simultaneously annoyed, amused, and saddened when people want to normalize transgenderism, support destroying unborn children, and in the same breath call ME an unhinged radical.

- Mexico’s president does not approve of deSantis.  Like anyone here should give a crap. If Mexican president’s word is so powerful, they should have stayed there…if they like him, his flag, his world, go back.

- First time I took my lovely Deborah to meet my parents, we walked into the room, where Mom said “come on…you can do so much better!” After a managed to gasp out “mother, how could you say that,” she replied “hush…I was talking to her”

- The founder of Oath Keepers, a big organizer for the Jan 6 matter, was sentenced to 18 years in prison. The guy did not as much enter the Capital Bldg…meanwhile Ashli Babbitt’s killer is still working freely.
Justice, my furry ass.

- The Midland ISD Chief of Police resigned immediately late Friday resulting from ‘a culmination of events.’  Of course we aren’t informed of what those events were, even though we pay out the wazoo in school taxes.

- In another stunning move of ignorance, the FDA has waved their wand and decreed that the 75 years of farmers and ranchers getting antibiotics for animals at the farm and ranch store has come to a halt. Rancher has a sick cow? Used to be a trip to the ranch supply store and alls good. Now, a trip to a vet for each animal is required. Got a sick chicken? Vets office.  This of course will drive anything food related up even higher in cost.

And no one on the planet voted for this, had public discussions, even a hint the FDA was doing this. They just did it, and to HELL with us.

- Well now…a joint study by University of Chicago and University of Munich clearly detail how people with strong southern accents are paid significantly less than their Midwest and yankee counterparts. This, as they say, seems to indicate some sort of preconceived prejudice reflected in their pay. I can sure see this in ‘corporate’ America

 - SCOTUS unanimously stated states do NOT have Constitutional authority to prohibit national candidates.  The thing that amazes me is it to...
