Monday, Yet Again

 - I’ll start by saying…there are days in which I’m 30 seconds from turning my sweet lady Deb into the worst version of Beth Dutton you can envision, other days in which I behave.

- If you are aware of mass shooting incidents and still refuse to take steps to defend yourself…that’s on you. Governments at all levels cannot protect us from much anymore…Covid, terrorism, scammers, thieves, etc will continue to thrive until they *know* they will pay a price, perhaps the ultimate price, for their actions. If your governments prohibit taking proactive steps to ensure your protection, then it’s up to you to replace those in office. Face it, ain’t nobody going to even acknowledge your existence until it’s a matter of survival.

- Which kind of rolls to the question: Jewish citizens have the same rights as everyone else. But what responsibility do non Jews have in protecting them from pro Palestinians?  Is it our duty to protect ALL citizens here, regardless of their religious or ethnic status?

The answer is a resounding 200db YES! Americans don’t recognize us as a unified society anymore, but we are.

- Seems every day there’s a new news piece telling how bad the economy really is, as opposed to the rotted tripe coming from the White House.  Here’s a thought: save that research and report money, and just ask people if they think they are better off now than 4 years ago.

- Dateline Canada…a 50 year old transgender M to F is competing against 13-14 yr old biological girls in a swimming competition. The 50 year old is a college professor. No word is said man shared the young girls locker facilities, nor why it was allowed to compete in one of the youngest age categories.

On the same thought Deb told me next time she gets her drivers license renewed, she’s going to make an issue to change her ID description to a 5’9” blonde 22 year old…

- Every penny of US financial assistance given to other countries, other political groups, whatever, comes out of your income and purchases. Wouldn’t it be nice to get back those monies spent just this year given to China…Iraq…anyplace in Africa…Palestine…Iran…you name it

- Yes, yes, yes…we all known the treasonous dipshits in congress known as the squad are pro palestinian, pro terrorism for Israel, and certain US states…no need to keep them in the news.

- Sundays … cold and rainy…are not made for football, they are made for napping

Wednesday, You Heard Me

 - The Israel/Gaza war is bad enough, but there is no reason other than treachery and anti-Jewish mania to fight their war in the halls of our Congress and universities. Y’all looking for moral equity, pro Hamas viewpoints, hatred for Israel’s existence, hatred for the religion of those living there seriously need to shut the hell up, read a history book (or have it read to you if reading skills escape you) and actual thinking is just outside your skill set.

- I miss the bright headlight switch on the floor in my truck.

- Odessa Guy loiters at a Christian rock concert, gets thrown…comes back, steals a front loader, attacks cops.  Cops shoot him.  I’m thinking the guy wasn’t fully into the concept of Christian music… or much else.

- Note: gig schedule precludes a Friday edition. Playing bass 3 consecutive nights with my dear friend Susie Beck Collis. I sure hope she doesn’t smack the hell out of me like she normally does.

- If someone says they wish we could return to 1956, it does not mean they support segregation and such…if someone says they support Israel it doesn’t mean they promote Muslim extermination…if someone says they oppose a new school tax it doesn’t mean they want kids to sit in squalor…STOP BEING INANE. Disagreement is not hatred, it disagreement; making everything about the edges is something entirely different

- It’s always funny to hear people talk about events in which they have ZERO influence, particularly in sports. If their team wins, it’s WE did it…if their team loses, it’s THEY did it. Social psychology (before going irrevocably off the deep end) called this BIRG, basking in reflective glory, and CORF, casting off reflective failure. As far as I can tell, BIRG and CORF are the first known examples of people choosing pronouns based on things they have no control over.

- Many years ago I made a New Years resolution to quit smoking, cut back on drinking, and lose 30 lbs.  by January 4 I hadn’t seen any improvement nor progress, so just blew it all off.  Butt speaking of smoking I’m still hanging in there with the weaning, 5 or 6 a day.  Slow, but I’m making progress.

- With an ever increasing possibility of the US getting sucked into another war…I’m betting our military wishes it still still had the billions of rounds of ammunition, missiles, artillery, etc  sent to Ukraine back.

- The ever stupid NBA now has the first non binary transgender referee in pro sports history. This dipshit can’t decide anything, but can have a dramatic impact on the outcome of games…and seasons. Way to go, basketball!

It’s Next Week Already

 - Seriously…I’m still searching for a full size truck or whatnot that gets 75 MPG with an engine that can go from 0-60 in 3.5 seconds, while pulling 15,000 lbs uphill, 100% warranty for 100,000 miles, costs less than $10,000, and runs on only regular gas. C’mon, Detroit, get it together.

- Texas governor Greg Abbott is *serious* about border control…to the point he’s putting up more border walls along the Texas-NEW Mexico border to greatly reduce the flow of illegals crossing national borders in New Mexico then entering Texas. Hell yes! I’d ask the governor to install similar border controls around the entire state to nearly eliminate illegal and unwanted immigrants. While we’re at it move the state capital to San Angelo and turn Austin into a maximum security prison.

- I’ve found that even lifting my self imposed boycott of NFL games, I don’t watch any, if at all. It’s like watching C-SPAN in that 100 millionaires are doing things that I have no affect on the outcome, which usually pisses me off.

- Many anti Israeli military types are bemoaning that all Palestinians are not Hamas.  Ok, but remember not all Germans were Nazis, but almost all had some duties, voluntary or otherwise, that contributed to WW2, the murder of 6 million Jews, and so on. This one reason is why the entire planet must deem Palestinians (and their supporters inside the US government) a dire threat to the existence of our species.

- Been reading a bit about something being touted as a government controlled internet kill switch.  This right here is why so called cloud computing is basically bullshit. Exactly everything relies on internet access. Won’t be able to buy anything as bank access at some point MUST have internet; use of programs you’ve bought and paid for will be impossible as said programs check the internet for updated licenses; medical records will be inaccessible; access to everything from family photos and records to legal documents to, well, you get the idea.

Hard drives in your hands and under your direct control are good

- $9 billion to Gaza is the exact same thing as paying Nazi Germany to invade Poland.

- Tip to music store employees:  don’t assume the older cowboy looking man is a know nothing ignorant geezer.  He just might have been playing stages big and small since before your parents were born, as has forgotten more about the product you are trying to sell him than you’ll ever know.

- Briefly, 4 out of town gigs in 5 days last week kicked my butt something good.  That said, I would not trade this life or the people I’m sharing it with for a trillion dollars. All the different people, environments, etc are motivating factors, but it simply comes down to the music and the other guys on the bandstand. God has blessed me with a little talent I’m told, but his riches rain down each time the next song starts.

Monday? Why yes…Yes It Is

 - Republicans aren’t much better than democrats when it comes to, well, anything. To wit: these guys can’t even decide on how to elect a speaker of the house. Stop doing homecoming Queen stuff, start doing what we sent you to do. Get your shit together or get out

- Note: this is my only posting this week.  Gonna be gigging Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday this week pretty much all over West Texas. Yee Haw!

- Showing yet again I know absolutely nothing about the economics of oil, west Texas crude nor any others spiral upwards after Hamas decided to commit mass suicide. Iran behind it, Syria now getting involved, etc etc, yet oil is still fairly stable, as of this writing anyway.  Gee…remember when we just didn’t give a rat’s rear about middle eastern oil? I do.

- Opinion:  any member of any level of government in our nation that supports enemies of our closest allies should be immediately expelled. You don’t have to support Israel, but we shouldn’t have to pay your salary when expressing support for people who decapitate crib bound infants.  No need to try and change my mind.

- Read about some ‘college’ ‘students’ protesting the removal of tampon machines…from the mens rooms. There are several layers of idiocy here. Why are there tampons in mens rooms? Who thinks there are actual men who need tampons? Why is this even a discussion?  Bunch of ignor-fracking-ramouses! Perhaps college wouldn’t be so expensive if they stuck to reality education instead of trying to reinvent biological facts

- Hot wife and I went to Clear Springs for supper Friday, if for no other reasons, their onion rings. Waitress asked if we wanted ranch dressing, which of course I’d never heard of. Asked her ‘who does that?’ to which she replied ‘almost everybody.’  If this is what being out of touch with pop culture is, I’m all for it.

- Perhaps the most interesting thing about Saturday’s eclipse was watching the outdoor cat’s reaction. Confusion, a bit of fear.  I can somewhat relate. As far as I know no one blinded themselves, which is good

- Being a musician isn’t as easy as the general populace thinks.  Being a band leader is a job I’ve never had, nor would ever want or could do. A band makes noise, a good band makes music, a great band makes music while presenting a very high level of professionalism, stage presence, and musicianship with the ultimate ambition of grabbing and keeping the audience happy…while maintaining peace with band members.

- There was a series called Caprica, a prequel to Battlestar Galactica.  Caprica was a brilliantly written and presented program that didn’t get enough ratings for SciFi network to show all the episodes filmed and ready for airing.  I genuinely don’t understand these things. The prequel was on par with BSG and exponentially superior to any Star Wars movie, yet failed. Same with Crusade, a followup to Babylon Five.  Go figure.

See y’all sometime next week.

Friday the 13th…Part October

 - Friday the 13th, tomorrow a full eclipse, half the world on fire the other half starting to smolder a bit.  Yee haw.

- I honestly don’t know if the societal chaos we are seeing is being orchestrated somehow or if people just do insanely stupid stuff because they can.

- Experts are trying to authenticate a video showing what is being taunted as being Big Foot, taken in Colorado.  Another video taken in May shows a formation of 6 UFOs flying in a loose formation, not reflections of just 1 as the other 5 seemed to rotate and make movements independently of each other.  I’m thinking the UFOs dropped Bigfoot off as to continue to stir up trouble.

- When I was a kid, a belch was not considered worthwhile unless it created a breeze, rattled windows, and registered on the Richter scale somewhere. My parents took me to an area in Canyon Lake owned by the big church they attended one July 4. A bunch of us kids spent most of the day playing football, etc. We were forced to take a break sometime early afternoon. The only drinks left were beer on tap (not good for kids at the time) and Dr Peppers that had not been cooled since the Eisenhower administration. I was real thirsty, and chugged 2 cans of the evil stuff, even though I hated it. About that time the mother of all burps made its way up, lasting several seconds and loud enough that it echoed in the canyon. Ladies were appalled, adult men quietly nodded ‘atta boy’, and preadolescent boys applauded with thunderous waves of awe. I’m told that belch can still be heard echoing in the hills, 60 yrs later.

- Is it just my perception or has news of Israeli retaliation been scarce, or has the slaughter of 1100 civilians just lost its newsworthy luster?

- Will anyone…ever…be held accountable for the Russia hoaxes, which were the impetus to endless lawsuits by socialists? Hell no. That right there is part of the global problem: if our government can lie, cheat, and scam it’s citizens without recourse to cripple our form of government  then the US is nothing more than a clown show cash cow. Perhaps we might pay closer attention to our own internal war pretty quick.

- Very seldom does an alarm clock wake me up anymore.  It’s typically a bladder saying “I WILL empty, it’s up to you where,”  serious heartburn, or one of Deb’s cats doing a 2 step on me. When an alarm is used, it generally takes more than 30 seconds before I realize what is going on.

- Seen: people don’t want to be part of the process…they just want to be part of the outcome.

- Read several things about how disarming Hamas is expensive, but necessary.  Ok, but as anyone with an average intellect *should* be able to show that it don’t stop with Hamas…you’d still have Al Qaeda, Taliban, extremist shitheads in Iran, all he African offshoots.  Then you’d still have to deal with Mexican and South American cartels, militant sects of groups like black lives whatever, inner city gangs, Antifa, and the like.

My point is modern societies have basically rendered self defense moot.  Cries of racism, transphobia, micro aggressions, all this idiocy basically punish people for defending themselves. I have no idea how to process this much general animosity, much less how to address it and stop it.  The only thing I can think of at the moment is “don’t want no shit, don’t start no shit…because I’ll damn sure finish it.”

Wednesday…If We Are Still Here

 - Those who support Palestinian violence right now are entitled to their opinion…and so am I. Supporting murder and devastation from Hamas, et al, in my opinion, makes you a dumbshit, incapable of independent thought, and a pariah to our species

- Interesting statistic. The Texas Rangers baseball team scored more points in a game than the Dallas Cowboys football team.

- Since the onset of BS like black lives matter, jobs at corporate levels have been disgracefully racist against whites. According to Bloomberg approx 300,000 corporate level jobs were filled, with only 6% being filled by whites, stark contrast from the 60-70% white population.  I guess it’s not called racism when whites are targeted for omission.

- It’s nothing short of amazing how Indonesia and China areproducing guitars that are *far* superior to things from long standing US manufacturers.  Recently bought an Indonesian made G&L guitar that was labeled on the sales site as used.  It came to me in brand new condition down to tags and protective plastic on the pickguard.  Neck was perfect, body flawless, and same electronics found in US made G&L guitars. A comparable US model would cost $1800 or so, I got this for $345.  So, what are the differences? At this point I just can’t find any other than paying higher wages, taxes at every imaginable level

- Interesting thoughts:  Pro abortion types should be grateful their mothers didn’t have one…people wearing Che Guevara shirts and parading around in Pro Islam clothing would likely be assassinated by the people they claim to admire…people making laws for thee and me are never affected by them in the least …I won’t patronize any business that doesn’t enforce no shirt no shoes no service, period…there are no homeless camps in gated multimillion dollar housing areas…like it or not how we dress affects the way others see us…

- While Medicare is a wonderful program in theory, it’s kind of useless when no doctors accept it. Face to face medicine is more business than medicine, and with Medicare approving only significantly lower payments than private insurance, well you get the idea. Same with the VA outsourcing services instead of providing them in house…which brings me to:

Who sets the amounts doctor offices charge for life saving visits?  Bean counters? Lawyers? Lawsuit prevention actuaries? Immigration officials? Seems to me the system is not just broken, but the people who can fix it are broken. I understand the concepts of free enterprise and such, but I believe these free enterprise things should not be guiding principles when it comes to life over death.

I’ve never encountered a poor doctor or a poor specialist, a poor pharmacist, etc, nor am I advocating socialism in medicine. I am advocating humanity should evaluate itself as to how and why medical care in life and death situations often boils down to searching for a doctor that accepts government payment, and has patients waiting for several weeks just to arrive and spend hours just to spend 15 minutes with a physician.

- No one in the world seems concerned about Iran, as they’ve been a royal pain in the ass for the entire planet since 1978. The reason is simple, and it rhymes with spoil. Same with Saudi Arabia.  Notice no one is coddling, funding, tolerating, kiss the butts of terrorist states that can generate unlimited electricity?  Goes without saying that if oil is so precious as to cost untold thousands of lives and destroy trillions of dollars of property, then perhaps an all electric society is THE fastest way to total annihilation.

- Forgive the brevity of today’s entry, but a nap is calling. Nothing can aggravate or scare me when I’m in nap mode.

Monday…Pray For Our Species

 - Read an article recently how the US Army is re-tooling their recruiting efforts from top down. Yeah, ok…good.  Speaking as a former recruiter, I can genuinely say a key to this effort is getting people who want to be recruiters, instead of picking people almost at random, and making them feel life abject failures just short of treason if they don’t make their monthly quota.  They call it something else but don’t think it’s anything other than a quota.

Don’t abuse and punish people weekly and expect them to convince others to enlist.  I had about enough of it, and my last three months active duty convinced people to keep looking for a paycheck, as the military was not worth the effort

- It really irks me to rethink things I long believed were true…but I just don’t buy the official storylines behind the JFK, RFK, Martin Luther King, Lee Harvey Oswald, most all of the assassinations of the 1960s.  I just don’t, as too many things don’t pass anyone’s version of the smell test anymore.  It disheartens me to think we are in for another round of this, orchestrated by pretty much the same people, for the same reasons.

- Hilary Clinton quite literally stated people who believe in the principles of conservatism should be sent to formal de programming  camps. This is not paraphrase, this is quote. This bitch is nothing short of the evil soul of  Washington and the democrat cartel, as in none

- So Hamas lays dormant for years…then biden releases $6 billion to Iran…just a couple weeks later Hamas attempts to invade Israel with missiles and door to door military action.  Kinda makes ya wonder where Hamas got the money to do so.  I’ll say it: unless firm evidence is uncovered saying otherwise, Biden was the banker for the attack on Israel, and is partly responsible for Israeli deaths and destruction

- I’m looking into running for governor at some point. My platform will include: any establishment selling food WILL have coffee available…anyone found guilty of selling, distributing, or possessing fentanyl shall be sentenced to death or life in prison no parole…feasibility study into cessation based on if nothing else breach of contract…as what we are seeing was not in the deal to surrender sovereignty to become a state

- I don’t know what to think of this anymore. Hamas attacking Israel…NATO member Turkey basically bombing Syria as usual…Ukraine…10,000 illegal aliens crossing our border a day…African terrorists have dropped out of ‘the news’ but I’m  pretty sure they are still doing whatever they please…the oft mentioned dragon from the east seems to be in direct or indirect control of everything on this planet…

sure does seem like the Book of Revelations is in full swing.

- Hearty congratulations to dear friends Randy and Susie on their wedding. Outstanding people

Friday, Short n Sweet

 - I’m wondering why FEMA finds it necessary to alert the entire nation at once. What are they anticipating? Meteor strike? Multiple targeted simultaneous nuclear attack?  Martial law? I believe I’m more suspicious of the ultimate motive.

- One of life’s greatest thrills is setting in my little music area working on original music with my partner in crime Gary Nix. He’s one of the nicest people I’ve ever known, and most certainly the best singer and writer  I’ve ever worked with.  Picking, grinning, making music that will be available early 2024.  Life can be good.

- Speaking of which…I’m sure it’s just coincidence the national zombie alert happened the same day the NSA announced massive upgrades in AI surveillance.

- Donald Trump as Speaker of the House? Gawd no.

- 10,000 illegal aliens…in one day. Anyone who tries to tell us the government has American citizens at the heart of their existence is a bald faced liar. I’m starting to think anyone who works for such an organization is complacent in the overthrow of our sovereignty, our money, or safety, even our way of life.

- Ideas: instead of assuming others are preaching hate, assume they just disagree…Twitter, Facebook, and the like might consider charging a monthly fee, as it’s real easy to express bullshit for free…government at all levels must stop instilling ignorance and hopelessness to certain demographic groups, incessant blame on others…DEI and such is nothing more than the tragically inane affirmation action on steroids, stop placing people because they fit a demographic and return to placing them because they are best for a job.

- I just don’t appreciate paying for features I’ll never EVER use, but trying to get just what you want/need usually costs a heck of a lot more. Anymore it doesn’t matter what it is, it’s loaded with crap I don’t want, don’t like.

- Australian gymnastics now allows those who don’t know what having a penis means choose their own uniforms and use locker/shower rooms according to their chosen gender, not biological gender. 93% of people participating in Australian gymnastics as age 12 or below.  Good work, y’all.

Have a spectacular weekend…Lord willing we’ll see ya Monday

Tumultuous Wednesday

 - A list of things that annoy me includes:  anything with Taylor Swift…attempts to justify corruption in politics…songs with obviously digital handclaps…most people…there has never been an annual Venus de Milo arm wrestling team…that even today exactly ALL attempts at gun control only apply to honest citizens, not criminals…

- Diane Feinstein’s replacement has been named…a pro abortion activist, black woman (of course) named to the position only because she is a pro abortion black woman, not that she would be the best selection.  And almost without fail, the new senator is criticizing the guy who gave her the job for something inane

- Last few days there has been an adult hawk circling around just across the street from us. I for one deeply respect raptors of any sort…hawks, eagles, owls…as they seem to know things we don’t know/couldn’t understand even if we did.

- I keep seeing ‘articles’ saying how inflation has slowed down considerably. First off I want to know where inflation has slowed down. Ain’t the grocery store, ain’t gasoline, damn sure ain’t electricity, ain’t the liquor store, ain’t music accessories and shipping thereof, ain’t restaurants.  So, please tell me where inflation has been curbed.

- Imagine being transported in time from 1963 to 2023, but the only thing you could see was the news. Wonder if it would be the same as being transported from 2023 to 2083.

- Stories of karma are really starting to emerge…democrats leading the charge against singling out carjackings are themselves carjacked…strong defund the police types becoming victims of assault, robbery, even murder in areas they worked so diligently to defund/eliminate police…so called sanctuary cities now screaming because they are being forced to deal with illegal alien invasions…and yet, these policies are still being hawked as progressive and necessary…it’s so easy to not be stupid.

- I’ve still got some banded collar/no collar dressier shirts modeled after the clothing designed to be worn with starched paper collars. Chances are better than 100% I won’t be attaching any of these collars again though

- Went for months and months without enough rain to put out a cigarette…then in a 15 minute span golf ball sized hail, lights flickering on and off several times, and enough rain to put the street under water curb to curb…then back to sunshine.  Love west Texas weather.

- So for the 1st time in history the speaker of the house has been removed from his seat. Kabuki theater is now semi pro midget wrestling

- Now ‘they’ are saying using the word spooky is racist.

- My wife said to our therapist ‘he always misunderstands simple question.’…therapist to me ‘what does she mean?’ Me ‘it’s a feminine pronoun’

Monday

 - As I’m sure you know, Sen Diane Feinstein has died, age 90. RIP.

- I suspect one of the biggest bug -a-boos in our society today is everyone insisting their opinions are fact, and inconvenient facts are just opinions to be ignored. Reality remains lost in times like this.

- Just opinion…but I think the world was a better place when men wore hats routinely.  Trilbeys, Fedoras, Stetsons, etc added a certain something, whereas ball caps take away a certain something. Just my age I guess.

- I left Lubbock after Friday nite gig, wind was whipping over 50 MPH, dust everywhere. If I didn’t know better I’d say the weather paid close attention to boundaries, for as soon as I left Lubbock county, it was calm, serene, quiet all the way home. One of the (this trip) rare semis I passed was an Amazon Prime 18 wheeler, presumably en route from Lubbock distribution center to Midland distribution center.  I had half a mind to ask him to pull over and let me get my stuff, cut out the middle men.

-  A gargantuan turd named Jamaal Bowman, D,NY, pulled a fire alarm Saturday morning in some capital offices in an apparent attempt to halt the vote to keep our government funded and operating.  If I did that, I’d be in jail forever. Black man democrat does that, and we’ll just see…

- First thing that entered my mind Sunday morning was ‘holy cow..it’s October already.’ Man, time is whizzing by. I don’t need hair loss products, disposable razors, fashionable clothes, etc. I need a machine that slows time down to a point that at least my brain can comprehend it

- Sunday 1 Oct Facebook showed more ads for various irrelevant bullshit than I’ve ever seen.  Got to the point I needed a nap after over-exerting the Hide/irrelevant keystrokes. And…I’m spearheading a movement to change the name of social media to antisocial media. More and more it seems for every thought I express, there are exponentially more people who tell me why I’m wrong, when they don’t even know what I was trying to say.

- In the event of inevitable nuclear war, please don’t tell me about it. I suspect I’d rather exist, then the next instant not exist, than to fret, worry, etc.

Wednesday

 - SCOTUS unanimously stated states do NOT have Constitutional authority to prohibit national candidates.  The thing that amazes me is it to...
