Wednesday,

 - As far as Star Wars villains go, Kylo Ren was basically Peewee Herman with a few powers

- A report going around that a Portland OR woman with breast cancer has been denied treatment because she expressed discomfort and concern over the transgender flag at the hospital. According to the Newsweek report she was offered “re-education training”, refused, and has been barred from any further treatment at the facility. Damn

- The man that shot and killed the unarmed Ashli Babbitt has been promoted to captain in the Capital police. Meanwhile there are STILL people in jail over J6 events for basically trespassing.

- It’s odd that things we/I didn’t have 25 years ago are the things that seem to break down most of the time. Bells and whistles on vehicles, Bluetooth gizmos everywhere, wireless everything, etc. Methinks it’s past time to remember the difference between technology and *reliable* technology

- It’s astonishing that dem ‘politicians’ are ok with aborting an innocent human life up to the moment of birth, but won’t execute a longtime criminal for a capital offense.  Seems any group that can’t define ‘woman’ can’t define life, innocence compared to evil, etc…yet they control so much of our daily lives

- The Hungarian government is providing relief assistance and emergency housing for families losing everything in the Maui fire. Thanks, Hungary. Hungarians are sending pop up temporary housing units and such, with no string attached blaming climate change.

- A 12 year old was banned…banned…from a classroom for having a patch of the Gadsden Flag on his backpack.  Even though the flag dates back to the Revolutionary War, school ‘officials’ stated the flag was a symbol of racism.  Even the history book they cited clearly showed the flag origin, they still went ahead with this tragic ignorance.

Which begs the question: when do once honorable symbols become reminders of racism?  Will they ever be allowed to be seen in the original light?

- Names young singer songwriters should know, but likely don’t, include: Warren Zevon, Levon Helm, Townes Van Zart, Robbie Robertson, Guy Clark…

- Interesting to note the band I work with, Gary Nix and West! Texas, currently does not have a dedicated tour vehicle…but if we did it damn sure would qualify for a handicap parking space placard.

- Are safe spaces still a thing? How about teddy bear and crayon rooms for college students? What about bath salts and murder hornets?  Has anything deemed a massive public threat or reaction actually been real?

- An Australian woman undergoing a brain biopsy surprised everyone, when doctors found a 3” long WORM living in her brain, wriggling around like it owned the place

- It’s a weird quirk, but when watching movies or just seeing pics, I notice people’s shoes, particularly the soles. Seeing people wearing road worn clothing but the so,es of their footwear is virtually unscathed immediately takes away authenticity.

Mundane Monday

 - I’ve received several spam calls lately…in Spanish. These people are nothing short of steaming piles of annoyance. Phone back to reject unknown callers, as I’ve just run out of patience.

- Of course, there is the time back in 2016 I had just come back from the doctor…he JUST told me my right kidney showed all the signs of cancer, and could be treated with either removal or some sort of chemotherapy but something had to be decided quickly to deter spreading.  I was setting on our couch, mad as hell, depressed, and frankly a bit scared, when a telemarketer called. I answered and within 5 seconds unleashed an assault with such vile and viciousness on the woman she probably quit her job, changed her name, became spiritually connected, and totally assumed a new identity. And I’ve got no problem with that

For those who don’t know, in Jan 2017 had the offending kidney removed with no further complications or signs of cancer, and for that I’m grateful

- Search the obscure stations on streaming, and it’s pretty weird what you find.  Watched a movie the other day depicting a vampire civilization…ok, but the movie theme revolved around feeling pity for the lower class vampires. Seems not all of them are royalty and spend all night going “bleh…bleh…bleh…”

- The oddness of French bread.  Why is it cut at an angle? Why is French bread always served with Italian food? Why does French bread get stale so fast? And…I’d be very disappointed if French bread wasn’t invented by a guy named Franc.

- The American CDC has now warned people to not kiss turtles. Your tax dollars, folks

- Speaking of patent absurdity, the Dept of Energy is trying to limit the size motors in ceiling fans.  As stupid as this sounds, what’s vomit inducing is the never ending onslaught of the American standard of living from people we don’t know, never heard of, and have never been elected nor held accountable for one damn solitary thing.

No one knows how much we’ve actually saved in severe water restrictions, severe electric and gas restrictions, etc. there are *very* loose estimates only, and these are dubious at best. So, will these restrictions become prosecutable crimes if ignored?  And who will enforce them?  Will a lettered agency’s SWAT bust down my door at 5AM because I yanked the idiotic restriction valve out of my shower, or have my ceiling fan spinning faster than allowed by law?

And more importantly, will the same level of enforcement/prosecution take place at John Kerry’s place, any of Leo deCaprio’s yachts, any of the Obama mansions?

Oh, yeah…Friday the USDA recommended no more than 2 alcoholic drinks per week. This will go over really well

- Read a *very* good question the other day, pertaining to donations to Biden/democrat fundraising: why should anyone give them money when they just continue to arrest their political opponents? It’s gotta be cheaper, especially since taxpayers are paying for it

- I honestly did not know tumbleweeds originated in the US until ca 1870, when seeds for these dang things arrived in South Dakota in a flax shipment from Russia.

Friday Foolishness

- Yesterday Deb and I celebrated another year of ‘making it legal’ She’s the most patient, understanding, and loving soul (not to mention stone cold babe) put on this earth, and I thank Creator daily she settled for me. Happy Anniversary my love

 - Another ‘benefit’ of the city reworking the streets surrounding our home, 3rd time in 7 years, is the low frequency roar of trucks in front of the house, road scrapers and steam rollers, and the like all rumbling to the point of shaking Knick knacks off the bookcases.

- Ever had a day in which within 5 minutes of waking up, you are already planning an afternoon nap? You will

- I’m pretty tired of using small phone and pad screens.  Did some work on these pages on one of my full screen, full keyboard Macs, and DAMN! So much easier

- I’d hazard a guess that a 7 year old knows about guns and their effect.  So why aren’t ALL persons named in any crime in which weapons are used identified and tried as adults?  Just opinion but someone regardless of age that *chooses* to use a firearm to commit a crime has made the choice to be treated as an adult.

I mean…if children are old enough to choose their gender, they are old enough to decide to use a weapon which could quite possible take the life of another.

- A knucklehead high up the Defense Department wants our military be be 100% committed to combat…as long as the enemy is the farce called climate change.  It’s idiots like this will are actively ensuring our military (that exists ONLY for killing the enemy and blowing stuff up) will be readily defeated in any existential threat to our nation.

- Presidential primary debates are basically a combination of circle jerk and beauty contest. Questions are inane, the answer “I have a plan…” are always accepted, and exactly everything said during debate will be changed. Stop it.

- In further chronologically induced meteorological events…in about 2 weeks our environment will be deeply effected by the evil known as pumpkin spice.  Everything from coffee to bacon to candles to Lord knows what else will be hawked with pumpkin spice this or that…can’t say for sure but I suspect this unhealthy obsession with pumpkin spice is why we have not been visited by intelligent beings from outer space

- Here’s where we are: a political outsider is still the focal point of countless millions spent in his persecution, while a professional con man ‘elected’ POTUS has almost single handedly turned our republic into a bad version of a 3rd world syndicate…US troops are used to protect everyone’s borders except ours…it’s demanded that men dressing and acting like women are to be revered while men acting like men are to be chastised…those who have paid into their retirement receive significantly less than those who committed crimes to access our national finance system…we still don’t know who was on the client list of the biggest child sexual exploitation ring in history, a list protected for political reasons…food is sold in smaller packages but costs significantly more than it did 3 years ago…

- Starting to wonder if the so-called elites are jamming electric everything down our throats so there will be more petroleum products for their own use. I mean why not? They’ve already done the same thing with money, food, etc.

- If you like your doctor you can keep your doctor. You have to pass the bill before you can see what’s in it.  Imagine if a conservative said these things.

- Have a ginormous weekend

Wednesday’s Wonderful Weirdness

 - The worst advice I ever got from anyone was “be yourself.”  Tried that, just didn’t work out for me or anybody else.

- I wonder if there’s any divine intervention in Southern California seeing earthquakes AND a rare pacific hurricane at the same time…if there is, then we all should start rethinking some societal and personal choices, doncha think.

- I can’t wait til late September so we can all quit bitching about the heat, but haven’t started bitching about the cold yet

- Been answering obvious spam calls lately with “Fraud Department.” They *immediately* hang up unless artificial intelligence which keep going and going.

- Just read that Dolly Parton has recorded (for November release) the Beatles song Let It Be…I first thought this was stupid…until read that Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr played, sang, and greatly contributed on the song, Peter Frampton as well. This might be worth a listen after all.

Of course as with most things, my opinion is just that: my opinion. It can be said with rock solid certainty that Dolly is more of an expert that I, and has sold more more records this very day than I will in my lifetime, so take my thoughts with 1/10,000th of a grain of salt

- I do cogitate about things, such as

     * how much oil pulled from Texas ends up in places full of people we don’t like, and don’t like us? Why do we keep doing that!

     * how is it possible to sell ‘food’ grown/created in China when the stuff has to be shipped here?

     * why are almost all acts of criminally bent flash mobs almost all blacks, when almost all single shooters white? Why are prisons mostly full of Hispanics then? Why do laws actively discourage anyone from protecting their own lives and property?

     * how many Beltway bureaucrats actually work an 8 hour shift 5 days a week? Same question for any state capital.  And why is nearly impossible to fire a federal bureaucrat?

     * progress is slow..upheaval is fast. Nothing worth a tinker’s damn ever resulted in upheaval, as people seem to pay the price in lives and societal longevity.

     * thinking about things I simply have no remotely possible chance of making an impact is a the epitome of wasting time. The ONLY real change I can hope to achieve is for myself and my immediate families.

     * if petroleum is in fact fossil fuel, then doesn’t it stand to reason the mountains and mountains of organic garbage we produce daily will become petroleum in a relatively foreseeable time? What scientific evidence suggests that fossil fuels must be from living or recently deceased life? How much organic matter does it take to create a barrel of oil, how long must it have been dead? Maybe we should do away with coffins to help replenish the petroleum supply…One more…

- We’ve forgotten how to think as a species. For example, if I state *my opinion* regarding (example only) Chinese flu, an opinion based on current information, someone will scream I’m lying. Right there is the big difference! Opponents are not always right, opponents are not always wrong. People aren’t opponents just because they interpret information to differing conclusions.

An untruth or partial truth is not incidental, it is done with purpose, a specific desired result.

- Barely 2:30PM Monday…Alpine HS evacuated because of a (seemingly) false bomb threat, Permian HS under police control from someone on campus being armed.  Apparently both were hoaxes. Just for the record, the people doing these things just suck

- When I was 15 or so, my dad starting asking why I couldn’t be like other fellas my age, getting involved in sports, cars, etc.  I was already firmly embedded as an aspiring musician.  This went on until I moved out on my own, and several years thereafter.  When he saw me struggling with reality and such, especially after returning from serving in Germany, he discretely started asking me when I was going to return to music, as it was the 1) only thing I was ever any good at, and 2) the only thing that really ever made me happy.

- Good tip from our HVAC guy: do NOT skimp on AC filters.  Buy the good stuff, not the $.90 things at the grocery. There’s a lot of science behind the workings of a closed loop system, almost all of which relies on the closed loop pressure in the system.  The cost of a 12 pack of top quality filters is still cheaper than one service call.

- The dementia patient occupying the White House told Maui residents of how a small fire in his home nearly damaged his Corvette and maybe his pet cat at the time…instead of trying to give comfort and aide to the hundreds of thousands of lost lives and/or everything they own. There was no mention of the $700 one time payment compared to the thousands received by so called immigrants each month.

- Happy Birthday, mom.  Hope by now I developed into who you always wanted me to be.

Monday Giveth, Monday Taketh Away

 - Grocery store runs are $25-40 more now than they were 2 weeks ago.  Bacon alone went from $5.49 to $7.99 like it or not (else) winter is just around the corner, with heating prices higher now than they were during Chinese flu.  Gas on a fairly steady uptick, on the verge of WW3 with 30% of attack subs and other ‘smaller fuel efficient’ combat ships stuck in dry dock, and the list of societal failures longer than the internet will allow.

All in two years. Have to wonder exactly who the DC bureaucrats are working for, because it DAMN SURE AINT US.

- Midland Tx school board has gotten clearance to have a bond proposal on the November ballot…a bond proposal over $1 Billion. Anytime a local entity asks me to approve something over a billion dollars, I know that entity has serious issues.

- It’s very easy to tell which elected government folks don’t give a damn about us…getting a bill introduced to make willful and purposeful lying on government time an automatic ejection and criminal offense when spoken during federal, state, or local congresses and other proceedings. It’s really the only way a sane and literate citizen will take their words and actions to heart.

- Don’t know about you, but when prescription ads mention “death” as a serious side effect, I’m just gonna rule that drug out as an option. We all get to the final breath of life for free…

- The EPA is spending $177 million on 17 university level ‘environmental justice’ centers. Basically it benefits poorer people who live in places with environmental extremes and trains (indoctrinates) them to become climate warriors and ‘community champions’ whatever the hell that is.  It is funded 100% by taxpayer dollars

- A guy named Vivick Ramaswami is campaigning for GOP presidential run…I’d never heard of him, but after reading about and listening to him, he’s definitely got my attention. Seriously don’t think he’s got a chance for a myriad of reasons, but he’s got some very real stuff going on.

And speaking of POTUS candidates, I understand the Biden/Harris clown college will be replaced by a tree stump.

- Remember when tv series ran 25 shows a season? Yeah, what happened there?  Speaking of visual entertainment, have y’all noticed that some actors always play the exact person, regardless of role, media, whatever? Bob Newhart, Tom Poston, Ruth Gordon, many others

- Perhaps if Maui residents live in Ukraine they could get more taxpayer relief funding. Perhaps if illegals were entering Ukraine and bleeding their citizens dry we could get some of taxpayer money. I dunno, just thinking out loud.

- After many years of trial and error, I’ve come to realization I’m just not a backpack kind of guy. I’ve tried backpacks for gig/cable bags, travel bags for clothing, etc.  I just prefer traditional soft sided carryall bags. It’s not that they are inconvenient, it’s just backpacks have so many pockets and compartments I spend more time looking for what I’m after that I’d spend just looking at everything at once and finding what I need. This doesn’t make me a bad person…does it?

- Question: there are two kinds of high speed roads (for this matter): divided by lane stripes and divided by concrete bound cables to reduce/prevent head on collisions. My question is what steps are taken by highway engineers to reduce head on collisions in roads with only lane markers?  It would seem that ALL highways would be separated by medians and cabling, so why are they still spending millions on construction building lane marker roads only?

Wednesday

 - Legitimate question: how is it possible for person A to say or do something considered criminal, and when person B says or does the exact same thing it’s considered campaigning or some veiled freedom of speech?  Seems to me exactly every ‘journalist’ in the nation publishes something meant to sway public opinion enough to affect an election outcome; people slamming real or potential political opponents from behind an official government seal is attempting to affect an election outcome; every organizer of so called mass protests or riots is attempting to alter the way we the people vote; ballot harvesting and disqualification of a certain bloc of voters occur every election cycle.

So what exactly is the difference?  My gut tells me intent is they key…but how does one prove intent?  So much of this nonsense could be IMO by simply obeying the laws, and disqualification of anyone with a party’s structure from being anywhere near the counting process.

- Mental exercise: to test your freedom of speech, use the verboten ‘n word’ anywhere in a public forum…then use honky, cracker, white ass, or any similar description of whites.  Refer to anyone in American history that supported ceding from the Union in the 1860s without a connection to systemic racism. Describe a criminal suspect with any mention of his skin color. Speak positively of one Donald Trump, Ron deSantis, or any national republican figure.  Can’t do it, can ya?

- There are three main roads heading east/west in the near downtown Midland area.  We live on the east bound one way…the westbound one way has been under construction for 18 months (still going on). In the meantime the lions share of traffic runs on Wall St, a 2 lane road that bears close resemblance to a tank trail in that there are more holes, cracks, buckles, and such than there is actual road. Now, most of the side streets connecting the three are under construction as well.  Somewhere there is a group of people who think this all was a good plan.

- I don’t mind getting my feelings hurt by the government…I do mind having my finances gutted, my freedoms of consumer choice restricted, and my faith in the system being applied equally shattered for good.

- Couple years back went to the wedding of an optometrist and his high school sweetheart. The preacher said “do you, David, take this woman to be your lawfully wedded wife, for better or worse…better or worse…better or worse…”

- One thing that rankles me is how elected officials are seen as experts…on anything. They are not, they are nothing more than politicians who say what focus groups and advisors tell them to say. Whenever some elected person tries to tell us how economics work, how parents should surrender their omnipotent authority over their children, tell us how much we must spend on idiotic wars and acts of tolerance that cost billions, We the people should just ignore them and do what we can to refute their foolishness

- Still not sure how Georgia DA was able to post online the latest so called Trump indictment before the grand jury had even voted on it…but hey, Trump has exactly ZERO rights in juris prudence m so anything is game. Being deeply cynical I’m waiting for the FBI, Antifa, or some other governor terror group to have a Waco wherever he may be next.

- And yes…I’m still waiting for ONE example of hyper progressive or woke policy that was a benefit to the entire citizenry…just one.

- Note: I’ll be away from these pages until Monday…gig schedules. Thanks

Monday Like It or Else

 - Incandescent lightbulbs are now illegal, with sales or possession thereof a federal crime. I wonder just how far the feds will take prosecutions of evil lightbulbs.  Will people be jailed? Fined? Will homes, property, and assets seized? Will another Waco evolve?

Wish they’d take on things like organized crime rings in the government, corruption, equal persecution, etc, instead of a damn lightbulb.

- The Biden underboss known as Merritt Garland has appointed a special council to ‘investigate’ Hunter Biden.  What a clown show. Anyone actually believe this will be a valid inquiry? Lord I hope not

For starters the guy appointed to ‘investigate’ is the same one who wrote the tragically stupid and shot out the water forever plea bargain deal. Seriously they don’t even try to cover up the corruption, they just hope we are too stupid to see it

- A very interesting thing I read detailed by an actual (self proclaimed, I didn’t verify) rocket scientist strongly suggested solar panel arrays have the opposite effect in addressing so called climate change. These arrays give off massive amounts of heat when in warm/hot environments, sending reflected heat into the atmosphere, exactly like greenhouse gasses.  This results in, you guessed it, raising the overall ambient temperature. Things that make ya go “hmmm”

- A ‘professor’ at Princeton ‘University’ is trying to make (and teaching) the case that ALL black people should be able to claim disability due to the ‘systemic racism’ they face in daily living. Higher education? That’s a good one.

- Spent a good 20 minutes researching carbon credits, where a person or corporation pays money to compensate for their emissions.  14 articles and no one says definitively who ends up with the money.  Put another way carbon credit programs are an avenue for people/entities to make themselves feel better about things they really have no control over. Put another way, a massive scam

- Honest question: what percent of the American population has had their DNA profiled and stored someplace for…further reference? How many people have their fingerprints on file? How many identifying photos with names attached does the federal government have on file?

There is no constitutional right to privacy, so where is that line drawn, by whom, and to what level of enforcement? Personal information on damn near everyone alive is available for a fee, is bought and sold without the individual having any say, etc…land of the free, or land of the free with monetary/government workarounds?

- Seems Anthony Fauci made somewhere in the neighborhood of $300 Million from the Covid pandemic. I’m not saying he was using his position to milk the nation dry, but…it sure seems that way. I wonder who else made an obscene amount of cash from Covid while the rest of us fought like hell to keep the lights on.

- I keep hearing updated murmurs of Texas actually becoming an independent nation again.  As it stands, we have enough fuel and food resources to actually do this, with income generated through exports. I don’t advocate this, but it’s far past time to run the numbers and legitimately weigh the pros vs the cons of such a move

Friday…Bring on the Funky

 - Saw a man and woman arguing in a clothing store. She said the belt she bought wasn’t big enough…he said that’s a huge waist.

- For the 1st time in history, credit card debt in our nation surpassed $1trillion. Im not an economist, but that’s a lot of money paid out on promissory notes. By the grace of God we don’t owe anybody anything except taxes on property we own outright. (Sounds pretty outrageous when put like that, don’t it?).

- Speaking of money…one winning ticket pulled down the $1.58 billion jackpot.  That’s a lot of cash. I’ve thought about what I’d do with that kind of winnings, but can pretty much guarantee I’d have no poor or middle class neighbors. In fact we’d have NO neighbors as we’d be 5 miles off any public road.

- By now most of us have started growing tired of the drama around the return of Yellowstone.  I know I’m not alone in saying Kevin Costner nor his character are the biggest crowd pleasers, so should he depart, oh well.  The characters Beth Dutton, Rip, all of the hands, carry the show IMO, and losing a show because one actor is in dispute with something seems, well, stupid.

- A movie set was shut down some while ago because one star ate a peanut laden granola bar shortly before a kiss scene…with another star who was said to be deathly allergic to peanuts.

- I find it ironic, amusing, and full of schadenfreude a rather influential group of Native Americans is spearheading a petition to return the Washington football team to “Redskins,” saying truth in history and heritage is much more important than temporary political correctness at their expense.

- Somewhat amazing how the Charles Manson cult made such an impact, yet much more heinous crimes happen almost daily without any media or bats of an eye

- It’s kind of odd that the most common complaints regarding using computers to record music are all fairly recent…problems that didn’t exist 20 years ago because we treated computers as basically a glorified tape machine instead of a complete everything digitally created one stop shop.

Wild Windy Wednesday

 - I’m confused…all of a sudden laws that have existed for several decades are now a threat to us? The laws being criticized and challenged are basically laws of nature, as you can’t force children to become a gender that are not biologically established. What changed? Oh yeah, that’s right.

- Speaking of which: if drag queens are hellbent on dressing up outrageously and reading to captive groups, why don’t they go into prisons, old folks homes, veteran hospitals, etc instead of schools and libraries?

- things…people who don’t pay taxes telling me I have to pay more…people who never miss a meal telling me I have to get used to eating bugs…people with no kids/grandkids telling me what academics children must be taught…people burning fuel in limos telling me to walk or buy an electric car…

- A woman in Silsbee TX was reported to have been operating a tractor of some sort when a snake fell out of the sky, landing on her arm,and immediately began gripping her arm for dear life. Few moments later, a hawk, presumably the same one carrying said snake, also landed on the woman’s arm and began pecking both of them. Eventually the hawk won, pulling the snake off the woman’s arm, and flew off with its twice battled for dinner.  Some weird stuff.

- We were at the grocery store the other day. Deb looks befuddled, I ask what she’s looking for, she replies “chicken pot pie.” I responded baby, that’s three different things.

- Propaganda and misdirection is not new, but keeps taking the actions to new and unimaginable heights. The main problem isn’t that such ill intended tripe isn’t effective (it is) but that intellectual sewage seems more prevalent than reliable facts and reporting. More and more people seem to endlessly question or completely ignore all reporting, press releases, government communications, you name it.

- The continuing entertain of Deb vs Scam callers. Some guy with monster middle eastern accent called for some bullshit, and she stopped him saying she gets paid $50 an hour, 2 hour minimum, to listen to unsolicited calls…dude hung up before she could tell him where to send the money.

- It’s been said out of all the transport companies in the nation, the worst drivers are seen in UHaul vehicles…whoever said that hasn’t paid much attention to Swift drivers

- Had a doctor appointment…he instructed me to disrobe and bend over.  Wasn’t til later I questioned the front office staff why this was necessary at the eye doctor, they told me the eye doc isn’t back from lunch yet. Damn

Monday…Chock Full of Insanity

 - The difference between doing what’s required and what is morally and ethically is down to zero.  The Golden Rule has basically been banned it seems

- Now a handwritten note from (then Vice President) Joe Biden to the now (in)famous Devon Archer pretty well nails the coffin shut for POTUS claim he wasn’t all that familiar with the now whistle blower

- I’ve been using thumbpicks for years…but recently our fiddle player Cory found a traditional plectrum pick on a bandstand dropped by who knows and gave it to me. Been using it ever since. Weird, huh?

- Just a thought…but someone needs to clue Hollywood writers in that not every person living in the woods is some sort of jerk water cannibal hell bent on living like a barbarian. Y’all just stay on strike until you stop stereotyping anyone not living in 3 million people metro areas.

- There’s a lot of chatter about our government’s transformation into tyranny and comparisons to 1930s Germany. Sure seem like it sometimes, with one major difference for now: all tyrannical efforts that I’m aware of would have failed before they got started without support from that nation’s military. I seriously don’t believe the rank and file soldier, marine, sailor, and airman would murder vast numbers of people who dared to disagree.  There are ALWAYS single exceptions, but I just don’t see a infantry division with armor support patrolling Midland TX or anywhere else forcing citizens to abide or be exterminated.

In spite of Biden’s oft repeated claims of F16s and nukes to deal with things, I just don’t see that happening. Even with the ever increasing number of woke peckerheads in command positions, there are still far more military men and women who took their oath to defend the constitution very seriously.

- For those strictly following hat protocol, we are less than a month away from switching from straw to felt. In the past I’ve strictly followed this, but as a senior citizen I’m just going to wait and see how the weather acts. Wearing a felt during an outdoor gig in 108 degrees just may be out of the cards now

- Here’s an idea: if any US sports team funded entirely or partially by taxpayer money disgraces itself with  stunts like kneeling during the anthem, their financial support is terminated immediately.  Let the bitches find their own way home after they pay their own money to retrieve their stuff from hotel suites

- No further commentary needed: a 90 year old member of the US senate, capable of writing and voting on laws that affect the future of every living soul in our nation, has signed over power of attorney to a family member. Diane Feinstein is no longer capable of making her own decisions but can make them for you, me, the American people.

- Perhaps the most idiotic thing ever spoken by any human since the beginning of our species was uttered by a transgender: I want to get a complete uterus, so I can be artificially inseminated, then abort the fetus. Some people should just be put out of our misery.

Fri Day, but A Day Early

 - Today’s Friday edition is coming out on Thursday…gig schedule

- The band played some indoor things recently, while the temps outside dropped below 100.  Now that temps are back over 100, of course we are outdoors. Not sure if coincidence, correlational, or causative, but the trend is there nonetheless.

- Memory is a fickle thing. More and more I can’t remember what I was supposed to do or why I walked into a room, yet I vividly recall sitting in a secluded cove on Gatún Lake in Panama smoking a cigarette (among other things) in 1968. I remember what I did and said in 1973 but not what I did and said 2 hours ago. I recall with relative ease longs I played in 1988 but can’t remember what key songs I’m playing this week are in.

- The number 1 contemporary Christian song in the nation was sung by a drag queen. This speaks volumes, but I don’t know about what

- Today’s wisdom: you won’t have any disputes with neighbors if you live far enough away from them.

- My phone is always on ‘reject unknown caller’ mode…Deb however doesn’t have that luxury at the moment. Anyway she took a call from some dipshit scammers saying she owed the IRS several thousand $ in back taxes. After said caller could not as much give the name to who he was calling, she responded with ‘just come on down here and try to collect it. The only thing you’ll get is to kiss my white hairy ass.’ She kept on him until he hung up.

God do I adore this girl.

- Seen: some young child called me an old fart at Home Depot. Tell his parents he’s in a red LG dryer on aisle 17.

- Been scratching off a lot of things from my to-do list. I didn’t do them, and realized I never will, so they are gone

- The problem isn’t that we all have different opinions. The problem is we tend to think people who disagree with us are morally and intellectually inferior. I’m guilty as hell in this, but trying to at least understand motivations for opinions other than my own. The trouble starts when people get rich and/or power by stating their positions while living mine off camera.

Wednesday, Indeed It Is

 - There is nothing wrong with being white…black..Asian…Arabic…straight..gay…young…old…Christian…Muslim…agnostic…wealthy…poor…urban…rural…patriotic…you name it

Nothing wrong until people try to pressure you to adapt to what they think you should be, and use crime, politics, or worse to force the issue.

- How is it that women can display 2” of cleavage in the front, and not the same 2” a bit lower on the back?

- Interesting development in Texas: governor signed a requirement to bill electric vehicle owners a one time $400 registration fee, plus an annual $200 fee to offset the tax revenue losses from electric vehicles not paying state taxes on gasoline. I genuinely don’t know what I think about this.

- Had a routine service call for our HVAC. Surprised at how fast ComfortZone in Midland responded, much lower cost that we anticipated, fast service call. Replaced condenser in outside unit, cleaned the water condensation pipe, tweaked here and there.  These guys are good, try them.

-  Seen: the way way to really deal with a bucket list is to change the b to an f.
