Wednesday…Wet or Not?

 - I was asked what I’d do if suddenly I had $1billion…this is easy. First I’d give half of it away, buy a $2million ranch complex far away from public roads…deposit the rest and live quite comfortably on the interest for my remaining days.  A separate quarters for live in maid and landscaper..of course a couple horses…a proper recording area...Oh, and have a newer truck.

- We’ve been forecasting rain for several days in a row.  8 out of 10 days, nothing or enough to (maybe) put out a cigarette. When it does rain, it causes the grass to rapidly grow, with the weeds to go from nothing to 2 ft tall monstrosities in the blink of and eye.

- If the presidential elections were held right now, I’d vote for Gov Kristi Noem of SD. Her running mate should be Sen Tim Scott of SC.  From what I’ve seen, THESE two are the voice of common sense, not a political party.

- One of the funniest things I’ve read: my wife and I have decided we don’t want children. We’ll tell them as soon as they get home from school

- My pronouns are he/him/yes sir

- I stay confused. We’ve heard the soy boy screams of toxic masculinity for over a decade now, but what about toxic feminism? What are we supposed to think when a woman pretends to become a man, then flexes their newly found male existence? How about those thinking they are neither gender forcing the issue…is that toxic non binary? It’s all so stupid.

- Every Memorial Day I’m reminded…that since the dawn of humankind, there have been parents, spouses, children who have grieved over our stupidity.  War is the most insane course of action; but we can’t always trust other human nations to agree…therefore if we don’t have by far the strongest military and borders to exist in history, then we’ve already lost all that we as a nation, a people, and a species could ever be

- The best joke I’ve seen in six months: Peruvian owls always hunt in pairs…the are Inca hoots

- I guess I’m out of touch.  One Monday, Memorial Day, had a couple of errands to run, in which I drove thru some middle class neighborhoods.  The ONLY American flag flying in residential and commercial areas was ours.  Times were, not that long ago, there were more flags flying than not.

- Gotta wonder: how much insanity of our society existed before the advent of cameras everywhere? Seems there are more and more acts of stupidity, wanton criminal activity, acts of brilliant compassion, etc, being reported than ever before. Did these sorts of acts occur with such frequency before a video cam was in the world’s back pocket?

- Shootings…everywhere. Here’s an idea: the same concepts of law free drug use centers but with rival gang shooters instead of needles or crack pipes

- CUNY Law School valedictorian gave a graduation speech calling on all lawyers to fight Zionism, white people in general, promote DEI and the other idiotic alphabet mantras, etc.  while it was disturbing to hear the speech itself, the thing that caused me to ponder our future was as valedictorian, this chick was the smartest one in her class.  Damn

Monday, Memorial Day 2023

 - It’s not a day about sales, barbecues, switching from felt to straw hats…it’s a day to remember and honor warriors who have died fighting for our freedoms to have what we have. Warriors from all nations who fought with honor. It’s damn sure not a day to promote your agenda

- So, Ron deSantis is now officially a challenger in the POTUS race, as is Sen Tim Scott. Now begins the mud fest that has literally made me sick to my stomach.Trump is a proven positive commodity as President, deSantis as governor, Scott as senator. It is my genuine yet tragically naive hope that the three will dispense with the bullshit and work to make sure one of them is POTUS, instead of backbiting, mud slinging, and destruction politics.

- A Michigan State professor compelled her students to ‘contribute’ to a Planned Parenthood outfit has been sued by a professed Christian student.  The professor has been fired but the lawsuit continues. Just makes me wonder how many of these things happen but are never reported.

- It’s one thing to attend to political words with a critical ear, but the purposeful misdirection, taken out of context quotes, etc are just too much.  Saying “I miss the old days” is not an endorsement of slavery. To the best of my recollection this idiocy all started with Bill Clinton and the infamously moronic statement “depends on what the definition of is is.”  Politically correct speech and approved wordings are straight of 1984. Perhaps if we ALL cut through the bullshit and spoke directly, listened directly, and quit abiding by what media tells us to think, we can start to set the nation back on track.

- So…Bud Light is giving their beer away. I wonder if people who get their free ‘beer’ will have to pay any sales tax, or report the cost of the transaction as income. There just ain’t no free beer

- Seen: Harvard Law gives course credit for studying what a troop of monkeys can teach humans “for creating a society free of male sexual coercion.”  This is where we are now

- I’m simultaneously annoyed, amused, and saddened when people want to normalize transgenderism, support destroying unborn children, and in the same breath call ME an unhinged radical.

- Mexico’s president does not approve of deSantis.  Like anyone here should give a crap. If Mexican president’s word is so powerful, they should have stayed there…if they like him, his flag, his world, go back.

- First time I took my lovely Deborah to meet my parents, we walked into the room, where Mom said “come on…you can do so much better!” After a managed to gasp out “mother, how could you say that,” she replied “hush…I was talking to her”

- The founder of Oath Keepers, a big organizer for the Jan 6 matter, was sentenced to 18 years in prison. The guy did not as much enter the Capital Bldg…meanwhile Ashli Babbitt’s killer is still working freely.
Justice, my furry ass.

- The Midland ISD Chief of Police resigned immediately late Friday resulting from ‘a culmination of events.’  Of course we aren’t informed of what those events were, even though we pay out the wazoo in school taxes.

- In another stunning move of ignorance, the FDA has waved their wand and decreed that the 75 years of farmers and ranchers getting antibiotics for animals at the farm and ranch store has come to a halt. Rancher has a sick cow? Used to be a trip to the ranch supply store and alls good. Now, a trip to a vet for each animal is required. Got a sick chicken? Vets office.  This of course will drive anything food related up even higher in cost.

And no one on the planet voted for this, had public discussions, even a hint the FDA was doing this. They just did it, and to HELL with us.

- Well now…a joint study by University of Chicago and University of Munich clearly detail how people with strong southern accents are paid significantly less than their Midwest and yankee counterparts. This, as they say, seems to indicate some sort of preconceived prejudice reflected in their pay. I can sure see this in ‘corporate’ America

Friday, Funny, Funky, and Forgettable

 - A college baseball play was ejected from a game the other day. Seems the slugger hit a home run, and after rounding the bases jogged through the congratulations tunnel made by his team mates, he took a sandwich offered by another player. The ‘umpire’ saw this as ‘excessive celebration’ and ejected the sandwich loaded player.  A friggin sandwich…this is why we are doomed; stupidity oozing from our pores

- Sanctuary cities are now crying their eyes out reacting to being tasked to walk the walk. Texas, among others has been shipping illegals to sanctuary areas for some time. Perhaps, oh, I don’t know, existing federal laws could be actually enforced? Nah, where’s the wokeness in that?

- Some things never fully go away. Hillary Clinton is yet again making waves like she’s volunteering to be drafted as POTUS.  Sure, why not? She can be the closer to the designed destruction of our nation.

- Spiro Agnew was perhaps the most forgettable politician in American leadership, but his infamous quote best describes what is happening this moment in the Beltway: nattering nabobs of negativity. The point is that seemingly everything being said and done has nothing to do with the constitution nor us.

- Except, of course, the federal debt. Psychology 101 teaches the concept of learned helplessness, when any organism realizes there will be unpleasantness, harm, or even death regardless of which option is taken. We are at that point now, that regardless of what happens in congress and the White House, we all will suffer, some tremendously.  Of the 5 groups most at risk, we are in 4 of them (retirees, veterans, homeowners, disabled)… basically the majority of income we receive would be in jeopardy of reduction or worst case, suspension.

- Interesting question: can you accurately tell between an Iraqi terrorist and a Guatemalan citizen as they cross the border unabated? Neither can anyone else, really, especially when we give them unlimited benefits and funding.  What happens to the terrorist after he’s 30 miles from the ‘border?’  No one knows. And there is a fundamental issue: when we don’t even ask them anything, they go anywhere they like to do whatever they like. No regard for citizens…as DHS *used* to say, border patrol needs to be right EVERY time, terrorists just have to be right once.

- Seen: social influencers spend untold thousands of dollars for unknown surgeries, makeup, etc…then tell us to love ourselves as we are. Idiots.

- Serious question: are there comparable methods of displaying heterosexual approving products? Would that fall under the retardation of hate speech? If so, then why is it ok to promote one lifestyle but not another?

Wednesday…Yippee Kai Yeah

 - Assessment of musical skills is such a strange beast. In some circumstances ‘great’ players are those that  copy note for note, nuance for nuance, that which has been previously done…in other circumstances greatness is achieved by adopting the themes of previously done music but enhancing the performance with personal interpretations…in other circumstances great is seen as new and innovative approaches to the task at hand.

But, the standards are not and frankly cannot be applied across genres. It would be an utter disaster to hear a symphony orchestra with 100 players doing their interpretations of Bach, Liszt, et al…also in the too weird to stomach would be Buck Owens licks incorporated in a rap setting. You get the idea

That said, I used to think I was turning doing something different when playing classic country ish licks on pop/rock stuff…some said I was innovative, some said it was stupid.  I’m thinking maybe a touch of both

- The NAACP chairman put out a travel advisory warning black folks to not go to Florida due to safety concerns.  Said chairman lives in Florida it seems. The GOP in Florida has offered to help defray moving expenses for the nitwit to leave their state.

- So, I’ve been paying water bills via an auto pay system for decades, and went ‘paperless’ long ago.  About a month ago the Midland City auto pay was ‘upgraded’ forcing users to re-establish their online access.  When it was first announced I obediently went to the setup page, but for reasons I’ll never understand was unable to gain access.

In the meanwhile my water bills continued to pile up, but I never got notified of impending shutoff because of the paperless option. After much ado, cussing, etc finally got it straightened up, payments caught up, and the like. Good thing, too, as water was scheduled to be shut off yesterday.

- Perspective:  there are approximately 8 billion people currently living on earth.  If 50 or even 500 of those just don’t like you for whatever reason, it is still statistically zero.  Be who you like, just don’t infringe on the 7,000,000,0500 rest of us.

- I wonder if there are places that sell used dentures

- Reading more and more news pieces telling of conservative slanted professors getting publicly chastised, harassed, etc, solely because of their opinions. A couple of standouts include a movement to dox white professors who given lower grades to black students instead of artificially boosting their grades to that of white counterparts; filing criminal complaints against professors who don’t actively support DEI and transgenderism.

- Liberal professors however are getting closer to murder…to wit: some insane ‘professor’ upended and basically destroyed a student pro-life info table, then held a machete at the throat of a reporter trying to cover the story.

- Tenure should not be license to commit felonies, tell obviously false lies, etc…

Melancholy Monday

 - Forever ago, chocolate milk was introduced and widely accepted for children’s consumption. Now the USDA is stepping in to likely ban chocolate milk from school cafeterias.  How about letting parents decide?

- An Iraqi ‘cleric’ has decreed that Israel is responsible the the death of a Muslim leader…in the year 661AD. Nitwit.  But it does cause an interesting question: what’s the difference between a cleric, an imam, caliph, mufti, etc? I guess it’s as confusing as pastor, reverend, minister, preacher, etc.

- I wonder if the FBI and Interpol still investigate, charge, and fine people for unauthorized viewing of DVDs like they said they did

- There are miniature dogs..Poodles, dachshunds, and such. Are there miniature pit bulls, and are they called shallow hole bulls?

- I don’t get many Friday nights off, but when I do try to make a point of going dancing with my pretty wife. It’s especially rewarding when the band we go see happen to be loooooooong time friends, and the crowd is made up of people we know more than not.

Such was Friday. Johnny Blaine, Bill Perser, Jason Steelman, Kevin Thompson, Dan Fergeson playing…people I’ve known for the best part of a half century in attendance.  These are the times I really grasp how blessed we can be

- Justice Gorsuch recently wrote an opinion regarding the elimination of civil liberties during Covid.  I strongly encourage everyone, and I mean everyone, read it. https://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/22pdf/22-592_5hd5.pdf

- Our military has for several decades trained, equipped, and prepared for the NEXT war, not the one we just got out of.  Recently our military has accepted gay lifestyles, now trans.  Who exactly are we preparing to battle, the French? California?

- So…Ford has tainted its truck brand forever by releasing a gay themed Raptor pickup. So called pride paint job…come ON, guys.

- See ya on the flip side

Friday…I Think

 - You know, we are in for a rough time for the 2024 elections.  Regardless of who wins, there will be violence, endless court actions, pundits falling over themselves calling each other and everyone else traitors. Whoever wins, lawyers will make a ton of money…

And THAT is the problem. Elections used to be a free for all, now they are something different.  Lies are nearly expected. The results are always suspect, and don’t really matter much anyway. We all have the right to have our voices heard, but those who exercise their voices by rioting, looting, violence, and general destruction negate MY vote, which frankly, is unacceptable.

If folks want to express their displeasure, do so in a way that doesn’t ultimately cost me money.

- Mel Street was perhaps the most honest and legit country singer/composer in my lifetime, with Gary Stewart coming in a close second. Both of these men could take a song and turn it into an experience, something most of us could relate to, remember, and adopt as part of our own history.  Sadly, both men died by their own hands, and sadly the music and memories are largely forgotten by today’s “country” “artists.”

They crafted their magic without drum machines, auto tune, hand claps, and all the other production crap. When you heard a Mel Street or Gary Stewart song, there was no mistake: you were listening to country music. Gawd, do I miss this.

- I’ve been thinking of a new career as a stunt double for cartoon characters.

- A few examples of what blind obedience to out of control governments include: prison guards at Nazi death camps…attempted genocide of American Indians…Spanish Inquisition…Cambodian killing fields…mass executions in Iran, Iraq, hell almost the entire Middle East…

Point: offer loyalty to your spiritual guide, not some schmuck in a necktie and suit.

- Seen: the idea that life is short is false.  It’s in fact the longest thing you’ll do

- Someone needs to do a 21st century remake of Harper Valley PTA…one in which the note tells of her son really wishing he was a daughter, because his teacher said so

- So…finally went to get a haircut Tuesday.  Let’s just say it had been quite a while. Walked into a nearby shop, they asked me to leave head over to the nearest American Legion on the days they offer free haircuts to homeless vets. Let’s just I refuted that, and got immediate service when I flashed a brand new $5 bill

- Just when I thought we’d hit peak stupidity, along come Adidas now selling transgender targeted swimsuits, another tranny on the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition, psychiatrists teachers and basically the whole federal government says their positions/roles in life outweigh parental rights.

- Some person(s) unknown drove their older van to a gas station parking lot, right here in Tall City, parked it on top of the place where tanker trucks refill underground tanks of diesel.  Ok, but while there the van occupants opened a trap door, unscrewed the tank cover, and stole over 600 gals of diesel fuel.  Pretty bold.  A gallon of diesel weighs 7 lbs, so they weighed that van down with +/- 4200 lbs of fuel. Surprised the vehicle could move at all.  That’s about $17,000 in losses.  Just, wow

- A fairly new technique of digitally scanning shipwrecks has shown what the Titanic looks like right now, in amazing detail. Over 700,000 scans were taken over the entire length of the two ship parts and the debris field. I’m curious if this technology has been/will be applied to Navy vessels that were sunk during times of war

Weirdly Wild Wednesday

 - I don’t get it. Wanting to restrict sports to members of biologically like genders is not transphobia, it’s common sense…wanting to control our borders is not racism or white supremacy, it’s common sense…expecting all of us to obey the same rules is not anything other than common sense. Wanting people to act right is not nationalism, it’s common sense.

The problem is we are dictated to by more and more people without a damn lick of it.

- Charlatans, thieves, scammers, and corporations have rendered (yet again) communications systems basically worthless. Spam email, cloned caller numbers, data harvesting and sharing, etc have turned cell phones into annoyances, as I receive as many BS calls and texts as ones I actually want.  But this isn’t new.  Remember the barrage of sales calls we got in the 70s and 80s from outfits like Olan Mills, insurance agencies, and so on?

Point: no matter how good something is, it doesn’t take long for someone to screw it up for the vast majority of us.

- Gotta love progressives. When they come up with a catch phrase, they stick with it, even when they KNOW they are full of shit. “White supremacy” is not the end all threat to our nation. Right now, the biggest threat to our nation is its government. Any government official that can look you in the eye and lie through their teeth, and not pay a penny’s worth of care, is the threat…

- Monday was weird, as I reported (as directed) for Jury Duty.  I was struck from the final panel basically because when asked, I stated on the record that in my experiences in law enforcement, judicial processes, Homeland Seeurity, and others, that unless strong evidence exists otherwise, the cops get it it right. Some other interesting tidbits:

Most everyone including me wore blue jeans.  I had on a freshly ironed dressy shirt, while others threw on whatever t shirt that didn’t stink too bad…Midland County courts were recognized as being a national model for the jury process…there was a 90% attendance rate between those summoned and those appearing…I for one could do without the lame jokes told by attorney  from both sides and court personnel…they REALLY need to have a coffee service…the only neckties worn were on the judge, the lawyers, and bailiffs…and lastly…

Times were when I couldn’t go anywhere without running into a dozen people I knew. Monday’s excursion had only one person I knew, a very nice lady from a church I used to attend.  Times, they have changed.

- Questions I’ve never heard asked include: how do they tune bagpipes, and why? Do peacocks ever get offended at the presumed gender affiliation? Why aren’t there more professional hambone and eef acts? Do soldiers ever lose their camo uniforms because they can’t find them? What do chickens think when we eat their unborn offspring?

- The Durham report on atrocious conduct by DoJ, FBI, democrat POTUS candidate, and others is finally out. Y’all already know what it says, but what it means is we the people will likely never trust the FBI, DoJ, IRS, etc again.Rightly so. What it REALLY means is these federal agencies are still free to ignore evidence and rules not matching their political agendas, and continue to make up new rules as they go. We the people simply do not have any way to defend ourselves against this ethical, often criminal misconduct. We are mostly outgunned, out lawyered, definitely out funded.

But, there are ways to belay this treachery: relocate the bases of operations from the east coast, far away from the face to face contacts with influence investing hacks…fire exactly 100% of those in the top 3 tiers of (basically all) government agencies…personal liability for those found guilty of such conduct (I’d venture a guess govt brass would think twice if their homes, savings, and paychecks were on the line)…bureaucrats can retire with full benefits before any scrutiny of their activities can be completed.

And most importantly: make the oath of office a binding contract, instead of a casual moment.

Meteorological Monday, Weather You Like It Or Not

 - In the combined history of our species: “we are developing weapons systems that will maximize the mission, kill more enemy troops than ever.”  21st Century American government: “we will build weapons systems designed to have zero impact on the environment and run on renewable fuels.” (no mention of combat abilities)  God save us if/when we get into another shooting war with the nation at sake, for we will be blown back to the pre Industrial Age…if we survive at all

- The HS softball team from McCamey TX is now in national news after catcher intentionally threw a beanball, near point blank, not once but twice, at the batters heads as they were leaving the box.  Y’all must be proud down there.

- I know life can be tough for man and beast.  This doesn’t mean you have to go out of your way to make it worse…for anyone and anything

- Ya know what would nearly stop illegals?  Instead of walls, busses, welfare, etc, an illegal found inside our borders would be held until enough are caught to fill a C5 Galaxy…then that jet would fly them to Sudan, Nigeria, Afghanistan, or someplace like that. Granted a C5 flight isn’t cheap, but how much would we save in losses from crime, welfare, medical, etc? I’m betting we the people would come out way ahead.

If only there were existing laws that kept OUR population safe…oh, wait.🤨

- Heard about a Japanese Gumbo restaurant in Tulsa….it’s called Okra-homa. (Can’t decide if this is clever or stupid)

- Who...exactly...are the 33% of people approving of this entire administration? What do they see as positives for Americans?

- Its really a shame that women no longer wear proper dresses, hat, gloves, etc to attend Christian church.

- An Ohio couple is suing their school district for taking punitive acts against wilderness who ‘misgender’ so called trans students in their own homes.  Uh..wow. A school district is not the do all end all left wing police agency.  It is my hope the couple wins their suit and a $25,000,000 in damages, to be set aside should the district immediately fire everyone involved.

- Sen Ted Cruz and a host of others are keeping themselves in headlines with national fire and brimstone orations against the inane border situation.  While nice, I’d much rather see them actually DOING something instead of yak yak yakking about it. For starters, get ‘congress’ to approve an exception to the Posse Comitatus Act, and send active army and marines to stop the madness.

- Most of us have heard about the Good Samaritan on a NYC subway who subdued a violent black man who subsequently died from a choke hold. IMO the Samaritan is being charged not for the death of a man, but the death of a black man.  This is nothing short of another travesty of justice, hard core racism, and has implications of legally estopping the concept of civilian heroes.

If a black person, a transgender, an illegal commits a crime, it tells the world we the people best let them commit the crime, because if the perp suffers or dies from intervention, the person saving innocents from harm will be prosecuted.

- State and federal ‘officials’ forcing homeless vets to vacate temporary lodging to make room for illegals have IMO committed constitutional level crimes, and MUST be held accountable. I’d start with being forced out of their homes to make way for said evicted veterans…see how it feels to serve your nation and be evicted for it.

Friday, Man That Week Blew Right On By

 - So…Tucker Carlson will be exclusively on Twitter.  Ah, well. I’m betting a lot of his audience isn’t interested in that platform, they (we) just want to watch the show without too much hassle.

- We need to stop calling them undocumented migrants, and return to illegal aliens.  Migration implies a return to a starting point. I’m not sure the nonstop entry is an invasion per se, but it’s not migration.  Ya know, the best ways to stop all this is to: stop giving these people our taxpayer money…consider not just deportation but physical exile…no statute of limitations, illegal entry to our nation 25 years ago is still illegal entry…make every crime in our nation carried out by an illegal a Class A Federal felony…start judicial processes against those who facilitate illegal alien activity as aiding and abetting criminals.

- Midland, Lubbock, all of west Texas is predicted to see significant rain all week. We shall see.

- Our nation has a  +/- $32 trillion debt. This amounts to roughly $94,000 for each American citizen, even the ones born 5 minutes ago. I’m not naive enough to expect a bill payable on receipt; the bill comes annually in April, every time you put gas in your car, every time you work a non-cash job, etc.  Sadly, we just have no way to ever pay these debts. Who are we actually paying, anyway? How old are said debts?

- Speaking of debt…I don’t need a government report telling me inflation is still absurdly high. I just need a trip to the grocery store.

- Loyalty is something that must be given to our Constitution, not to any man in office.  By dedicating to individuals instead our fundamental blueprint, they have rendered that blueprint essentially worthless.

- An Odessa teacher is on ‘administrative leave’ following a complaint she (gasp!) spanked a child.  My parents complained once that my teachers didn’t spank me enough.  I’m going out on a limb here, but bring spankings and quiet time for prayer of meditation back to schools, and we’ll see an 80% drop in so called problem children

- Some states like California are looking for ways to pay “reparations “ to blacks (and only blacks) for whatever reason. What other states do is their business, but…I believe like all other matters federal funds will be requested/demanded or siphoned off from legit federal money.  I’d propose a limit on how much federal assistance a state can receive based on total citizen population, not based on ethnicity.  Anything over this limit is, well, sorry Charlie.  Of course limits don’t apply for disaster relief.  Any federal disaster monies found to be diverted for reparations, benefits for illegals, etc, shall result in charges of money laundering

- Wednesday evening got told of the passing of not one, but two people I knew fairly well. All this comes after a couple days of pondering the futility of my own existence. RIP Nick Carlton and Robert Lathrop.

- So…the House GOP releases a report outlining the Biden cartel receiving in the area of $10 million in unethical if not totally illegal foreign payments. The ensuing options are a. Impeachment (disaster choice, as in/when convicted we have President Kamala Harris)…b. Biden will ride it out/ignore it land be removed by socialist dems when he’s no longer convenient (my guess this is what will happen)…c. Positively absolutely nothing (close second guess)

Whatever occurs, we just can’t keep our republic form of government functioning this way. Yet again, every moment and every nickel invested in Beltway shenanigans is a moment/nickel spent in NOT doing anything at all for we the people

Weepy Sleepy Wednesday

 - Last week, Bloomberg magazine ran a feature stating Midland TX either can’t or won’t spend the money to improve local infrastructure.  The magazine’s take on our city was misleading at best, a hit job at worst.  Bloomberg is now on my ‘too full of horse muffins to bother reading’ list

- I confess that I’m the stickler to tradition as I once was. Humbucker pickups to play country chicken pick stuff, straw hats when the temps get high, irrespective of after Labor Day or not, etc. I also don’t feel guilty about violating norms. Close to 67, and anything outside of norms can now be seen as old man quirks.

- I guess thoughts of good wishes extending to King Charles and Queen Camilla of Great Britain. I don’t have a dog in that hunt, but still…good luck y’all.

- True racism exists everywhere now…it didn’t used to. True racism is holding people to differing standards than everyone else because of the accident of skin color. When you lower standards, you are actually inhibiting a person’s motivation to excel.  Want to be a non racist? Then hold everyone to the same standards

- I swear the bugs flying around in west Texas are unique, in they can be soft squishy lil things until they hit my windshield. Then they become quick setting concrete with their ecto skeletons becoming rebar.

- Re: mass murder in Allen TX…killer was an illegal, who had been deported several times before. Mexican, not a white supremest. In case you didn’t know, non whites cannot be Nazis: it’s against the very core of that brand.  And I’ll say it: if he hadn’t come back to break the law again, there would have been no mass shooter.  Blame this one on tragically piss poor, and deadly, border enforcement

- Weird: Amazon has introduced its home security robot. Rolls around checking on unauthorized people, can notify you and law enforcement of violators, etc.  They don’t specify if the thing can be weaponized or not, but this gives me a serious case of the creeps.

- Last Friday night we were at an event in which people were dressed a whole lot nicer than the typical music event.  Several people complimented Deb on her dress…a dress she bought 7 years ago at Cracker Barrel for less than $18.00. One nice lady even went out of her way to say so.  Just proves that some people look stunning, regardless of the cost of their clothing.

- Headlines continue to be more and more ridiculous.  Seen in the past few days include: the feds told a Catholic hospital system in Oklahoma that they needed to extinguish the eternal flames in their chapels or they’d lose their Medicare/Medicaid funding…Robert F Kennedy Jr publicly  proclaiming hype JFK assassination was at the hands of the CIA…an Indiana couple adopting a Ukrainian special needs child went thru hell when they discovered the alleged 6 yr old was actually a violent adult, yet were charged with child endangerment even after the child was found to be a 22 yr old…$1.2 Million per person California reparations isn’t enough, the number must be $200 Million to be fair, even though that figure adds up to more money than there is in the entire human economic system….Donald Trump issued a gag order in yet another trial, while his opponents in upcoming election are allowed unfettered freedom to lie, cheat, finagle, everything

- So…the mental midgets in the pentagon have renamed Ft Hood to Ft Cavasos.  I don’t care what you call it, it IS AND WILL BE Ft Hood, Texas.

- Seen: I almost had a psychic girlfriend, but she left me before we met

Monday…Ridiculous That It Comes Once A Week

 - Started getting scam phone calls from so-called AI. Yes, I have unknown calls to voicemail, but damn.  I’ll be amazed if I don’t get another prepay phone for people I want to talk to.

- I wonder if service people like plumbers, electricians, carpenters, etc are required to disrobe to make service calls at nudist colonies. I would imagine that would be a problem if a carpenter (say) had to be nekkid to use his saws, chisels, and other power tools.  I would think the WORST job to do in the buff would be welding though.

- Some government types don’t fully grasp the idea that when they question people during ‘hearings,’ they should have a basic grasp of the subject…or at least know what the topic is. (paging Hank Johnson…)  Sheldon Whitehouse (moron-RI) trying to get in an economic pissing contest with an actual multi-Ph.D woman is nothing short of hilarious.

- My beautiful lady Deb told me a sad story in which she had to instruct a 15 yr old on how to use an actual telephone.  The child had no idea she had to pick up the receiver and talk into it…after she dialed the number.

- I’m at the point at which due process should not  be available for illegals committing capital crimes. This latest pendejo shot and killed 5 people because they asked him to turn his music down. He’s already been deported 5 times, so that right there should put him away forever, mass murderers should be put down like rabid dogs. Positive ID on perp and crime?  Shoot him dead

- The comedy show California keeps on giving.  They have announced a ban on ALL diesel locomotives and semis by 2036. Currently (heh) tbe technology simply does not exist to haul 70,000 lbs of anything, much less 1,000,000 lbs. No info on recharging these massive beasts will cost.

Again, I’m all for alternative energy…when it’s ready. It’s not.

- I received a call 40 or so years ago to fill in on guitar…in an all girl band.  It was fine until the venue decided to hold ‘a band’s mustache contest.’  I came in 3rd🤨

- Took Friday night off to go see John Conlee and his opener, Earl Thomas Conley’s road band.  What a great show! Thanks Judge Johnson for the passes.  I’m gonna come out and say it: Dan Drobec from ETC is likely the finest guitar player you’ll probably never hear of. The man is simply a stunning player, and one hell of a nice person. Exactly everyone on stage was a fun hang, and masters of their instrumental domains

- Read an article recently about how certain ‘groups of influential people’ are looking at ways to regulate coffee. Screw you guys.

- New York State has banned gas stoves and furnaces in all new residential construction starting 2026.  I can’t imagine how much fun it’ll be in winter there.  Actually I can’t imagine anytime there, but that’s a different post

- A Denver City Council woman proposed that white business owners be taxed at a higher rate, with the additional monies being given to so called minority business owners.  Serious, she is proposing this.

Friday…Faults, Fineries, and All

 - I don’t know if boycott is the proper word…but I just won’t spend my money on products who’s parent companies invest and promote activities I believe are contrary to the safety of our nation. Sometimes it just can’t be helped, but for the most part if a) a company’s donations are against my grain, I don’t buy their products and b) a company’s business practices are just stupid.

- Read somewhere Disney is coming out with an animated movie about a transgender whale. It’s called Maybe Dick

- There is an off cycle election on May 6.  There are absolutely no issues affecting the voters of Midland County, Tx, something pretty unique I believe.

- Paul Harvey (I think) coined the phrase self government will not work without self discipline.  We are seeing he was 100% correct now. I’d suggest a modification to his words, though: self government no longer works without accountability.

Far too many ‘investigations’ are redundant, are always political hit jobs, expensive, and result in nothing; said investigations use the words of an admittedly biased media or the words of well documented liars as a basis; the notion of due process is illegally set aside if the subjects of investigations are of a particular party. This is not justice, this is not beneficial to we the people, this is not what our government was designed to do.

Another idiotic matter is progressives willfully and knowingly attempting to bypass the idiot proof concept of separation of powers. When a party, not congress but a political party, demands a member of a different branch to ‘testify’ the system is destroyed.  Schumer (Dumbshit, NY) demanding members of SCOTUS to appear is probably a constitutional violation, definitely a violation of the intent.

- We’ve all seen the you might be a Texan, you might be a redneck things…I’ll add a few local ones, applicable to the Permian Basin: you might live in west Texas if you keep a shoe in every room to smoosh big bugs…if you ALWAYS watch for snakes outside…if your HVAC is set to off, then heat, then AC, then off again, then heat, all in the same day…if when you pray for rain, you also pray not too much…if you can’t drive more than 2 miles without hitting a construction zone…if your late night trips on the way home have 2 stops, one for burritos regardless of price one for cigs at the cheapest place to find em

-As you may know, we had to put down the oldest cat the other day. Wednesday, we got a card from the vet, signed by everyone on staff expressing their sympathies. Thanks to the staff at Legacy Animal Emergency clinic in Midland.

- An actual question asked of me while I was teaching: what day is cinco de mayo?  Mind you I was the in school suspension teacher, and this was one of the dumber kids I had to deal with

- The old school communist Bernie Sanders (S-Russia) wants the US to TAKE all money over $999 million. If enacted, who would bankroll democrat candidates?  Actually, it’s not anyone’s business how much money someone has, it’s only relevant when monies were obtained through illegal means.  How Bernie, how about you drive you Lamborghini, live in one of you 3 mansions, but more importantly STFU.

- In a bold move to combat atrocious recruiting, the US Navy has employed  a drag Queen as spokesman.  This pretty well cements the USN as having the dumbest leadership of any armed forces since Vietnam

Weird Wednesday

 - An Odessa woman has been found guilty in the capital murder of her adopted daughter. The woman forced her daughter to jump on a trampoline for 8 hours, causing dehydration to the point it killed the little girl.  The husband’s trial date is pending. The girl was being punished for something, they told police.

This woman deserves the death penalty, as do any adults who basically torture a child to death.  Bad enough to kill a child, but to drag it out over 8 hours? No, there is zero hope of rehabilitation and I don’t think paying for the murderer’s housing, food, medical, etc for the rest of her natural life is appropriate in this (or any) circumstance.

- Seen: only in math problems can you buy 60 cantaloupes without someone else asking ‘what the hell is wrong with you?’

- Read that more and more ‘universities’ are housing blacks with blacks, Hispanics with Hispanics, etc…that there are now separate graduation ceremonies based only on skin color. Pardon my saying so, but this is tragically stupid. This keeps up we’ll see (again) the negro Army, Woman’s Army Corps, separate water fountains, you name it. Martin Luther King might as well have never been born.

- The FBI recently announced they have greatly reduced their incidents of spying on Americans. While this is nice, several things come to mind

How do we know this to be honest and truthful? Did they just shift spying chores to some other agency? How many agencies ARE spying on Americans? Are these approved by FISA or other court? (Yeah, I know that’s not a comforting thought). Do these spying agencies share whatever information they get or only info gathered under the scope of their operations? Are these spying events at the benefit of national security or the benefit of a particular political cartel?

- Since their are too many to count examples of exceptions to the laws of genetics, let’s just apply that mindset to everything.  20 yr old men should be allowed to compete in elementary school age girls sports; PGA pros should be encouraged to participate in junior high interscholastic tournaments; 19 yr old single women should be able to identify as 72 yr old men and live in fancy retirement communities; hell, I should be able to identify as the worlds greatest operatic soprano. Why not? Nothing else makes any sense.

- Any bets there are plans in the works to have some new Covid strain locking us down shortly before the 2024 elections?  How about the resurfacing of nation ‘occupy’ or similar events?  I’m pretty sure I won’t fully trust our government in this lifetime.

- I hope someone invents a hearing aid that can properly reproduce the full audio spectrum. All the ones I encounter only address the range of speech and completely ignore things (or counter them🤨) that fall outside the speech parameters.

- It’s been reported an orchestral concert goer got somewhat more than the usual joy at a recent performance of Beethoven’s Fifth. The unnamed woman apparently had a ‘full body orgasm’ at the peak of the performance. The article didn’t specify if it was just the music, or if (pardon) someone had a hand in it.  Still I expect orchestra attendances to dramatically rise.

- Let’s be clear …I don’t hate flaming cross dressers.  What I DO hate is the need to force their choices on others, especially children. What I DO hate is unabashed attention to go beyond equality to preferential treatment. What I DO hate is the mindset that if you don’t join in the festivities you are some sort of phobic redneck.  Anyone is free to live life in their terms, as long as others are forced to pay attention to you

- Final thought today: I’m all for the idea of all inhabitants of this planet having one economy, one government, a unified species. BUT we just ain’t there yet nor will we be anytime soon, if ever. There are far too many (for now) unwavering factors. For example, the price we pay for gasoline here is affected by what China and Russia do; far too many nations and sects using violence to inflict their brands of society, morality, and lifestyles, etc.

Until the day comes that we recognize we are one people, we will have to maintain our sovereignty, and must strive to be the global leader in, well, everything.  Events in other parts of the world just cannot influence how our own citizens are treated.  Being honest, the US is the only way of life that has shown hope for a future. Everything else has failed or just stagnated to the point of irrelevance.

Monday…Let The Madness Begin

 - There are days I’m glad voodoo dolls don’t work well.  If they did, I’m pretty sure I’d have more holes in me than a sieve.

- Got a summons for jury duty.  Last time I got such a summons, I reported, and asked rather loudly “when are they gonna bring that guilty sumbitch in?”  Still got picked.

- A trans type representative in Minnesota has written language in a state human sexuality bill to remove language which identifies anyone expressing sexual desires towards minor as committing a crime. Damn! Not only do they not hide pedophilia they are encouraging it.

- In related news a ‘man’ in the city of Pecos TX was arrested for (among other things) about 30 child porn videos on his computer…and…he lives *right next door* to the school there. I will never understand this, will never even consider it human behavior.

- Seen: Woman says she shutdown a vicious mansplaining event when a guy tried explaining the word seahorse.  She told him to STFU, as she know that seahorse in the present tense of sawhorse.

- Ron deSantis of Florida is an enigma. He talks about a lot of conservative values, yet will be signing into state law a provision allowing him to remain governor should he decide to run for president.  Sorry, man, you can’t have it both ways

- I see quite a few Facebook posts saying ‘like if you have a beautiful (grandchild, son/daughter, stepchild, whatever).  This is some sort of discrimination, as there are no similar threads for people who have butt ugly kids running around. You know, the kind that can curdle milk still in the grocery store case, the kind you take everywhere because they are too ugly to kiss goodbye.

- I don’t know about anyone else, but personally I’m starting to get worn down by the hourly tidal wave of societal degradation everywhere.  Runaway crime, targeting children for sexual manipulation, inflation, a government that regardless of party just not give one single shit about us, spin more important than facts, atrocious customer service just about planet wide, you name it. It’s starting to affect me physically I believe, as the depression caused by the world we allow is starting to manifest in constant headaches, angst, distrust, and so on.  I pretty much live life under MY terms, but…wow

- One interesting facet about Fridays seem to be the shutdown of most DOT GOV activity.  If congress meets, they accomplish even less than usual; local and state agencies same thing. Fridays seem to be a blowoff day in most schools, definitely colleges.

- Hundreds of army officers have had their active tours of duty extended a couple of years because of severe shortages of pilots and other specialized fields.  Not exactly what I call a fair deal.  Wonder if DoD knows something we don’t.

- Here’s something goofy…men pretending to be women want people who ‘misgender’ them to be arrested, or at least chastised and fined.  Imagine the prosecution, then the defense offering ‘does the plaintiff have a penis? Does plaintiff have an X chromosome? Then he’s a male, no matter how he chooses to dress.’  Hard to cross examine 1,000,000 years of evolution

- I’m wondering why the IRS needs armed agents.  Still haven’t heard explanations as to why the Dept of Education, Interior, Agriculture, and seemingly every other government agency has armed agents.  Again, I’m all for people being armed, but it seems odd that more and more of this comes at my/our expense. Who, exactly, are these federal agents protecting?

- The adage about March, in like a lion out like a lamb, has been sent into the depths of ‘not this year.’  Wind and dust storms are crazy this year.  I’ve seen people return to cigarettes just to help clear the dust from their lungs.🥸

Wednesday

 - SCOTUS unanimously stated states do NOT have Constitutional authority to prohibit national candidates.  The thing that amazes me is it to...
