Thursday

 - Great Britain has upped the age requirements to see the movie ‘Mary Poppins.’ Apparently the crazy old sailor uses a word (twice) that is a Dutch slur for natives.  I guess it’s safe to go visit the UK again.

- Heard a comedian say the other day he went to cash his very first paycheck as a pro. The cashier asked him if he wanted his money heads or tails. I can dang sure relate

- As tragic as the Georgia student killed by an illegal alien is, it’s not the only one…by any stretch of the imagination.  Illegals directly murder, rape, rob, and who knows what else every damn day, but those are not political fodder. Pro tip: illegal aliens have ALL committed a crime by entering the nation without legal basis. They are rewarded with housing, money, food, medical needs, so why on God’s earth should they stop with just one felony? To survive, our nation MUST treat illegal aliens as criminals, with zero assistance from any government agency. Regardless of their nationality, skin color, religion, etc.

Equal protection for citizens starts by equal prosecution of criminals. Not a hard concept, at all

- This seems pretty counterproductive.  We did our taxes the other day, just to find we no longer qualify for earned income credits at all, now that Deb is over 65. My mind sees this as a tax penalty for being senior citizens. Age discrimination maybe?

- Sadly there has been a noticeable uptick in shootings in this area. Oddly not one single shot was fired because of the gun; someone had it, and used it for criminal purposes. Perhaps guns aren’t the problems, since they don’t do anything by themselves.

- Continuing the notion that well placed academics are more likely than not to be morons is the story of a professor at Cal State strongly suggesting that Taylor Swift fans are racists…this imbecile is getting paid a TON of money to be a dumbass. Although I’ve been a dumbass for free, that service is no longer gratis, as I’ll need half of what she’s being paid to say things equally stupid

- This week so far has been hot, pleasant, hot, then near freezing. And it’s just Wednesday.

- Been reported Senate Majority ‘Leader’ Mitch McConnell is stepping down in November. He should has been gone 2 decades ago. Cocaine Mitch has for years waffled on every conservative (not republican, conservative) matter thrown his direction. We the people NEED younger representation but all we get are media mouthpieces regurgitating what news people tell them is American hot topics.

- The most impressive thing about the texas Panhandle fires is the response of other communities offering firefighters, equipment, land to hold cattle and horses, feed, whatever…all at no cost. There really are some magnificent humans in this part of the world.

- Interesting how this date, 29 February, rolls around once every four years…the same as Presidential elections. Two disasters in one year are plenty, so please change one or the other

Unbelievable Monday

 - A magazine called New Scientist is suggesting humans consider cannibalism as a means of ending world hunger. The article also says perhaps we’ve got such an aversion is because of colonialism views that cannibals were typically black, and it’s a form of racism. To this, I say: eat me

- There’s a thing going around called RSV…some sort of respiratory virus affecting over 65s (check), smokers (check), and various conditions (check.)  About 20 min after the shot started feeling like absolute chit, pretty much floating on air and indecisive whether to be hot or cold. Next day woke up much better, but halfway thru mowing the front lawn started feeling like I did yesterday. Y’all might think of getting it but if you do plan for at least 2 days of lightheaded ness, dizzy, alternating hot and cold, and Jimmy Carter  level malaise.

- Out and about the other day, a brand new vehicle pulled up at the stop light next to me.  Deb asks ‘what is that?’ and I told her that was the new line of Ford Broncos.  Without missing a beat she then asked ‘where’s the rest of it?’  That’s my girl.

- If your politics relies on calling people racist, sexist, or homo/transphobic…you are a moron. You’ve contributed NOTHING to our national milieu but have gained attention, which gets you on talk shows.

- Disgruntled means unhappy…gruntled means happy. Yet Miscreant and creant have vastly differing meanings. Now you know

- I’m not a republican…I’m DAMN sure not a democrat…I don’t even fall into the category of independent.  I make my choices based on the person, not the party, and never ever because endorsement, crowd influence, advertisements, or any other such easily manipulated stuff.  Before they went absolutely insane, I voted democrat as much as republican.

- Administration is imposing 500 or so sanctions against Russia in reaction to some political prisoner dying, likely at Kremlin’s insistence. My take: so what? Dang near every government on earth does things to its citizens that someone else deems morally wrong, but, it’s their government not ours. We’ve got far too much crime and corruption inside The Beltway to worry about some other guys on the opposite side of our planet. Let’s clean up our own yard before getting the vapors over some other guy.  The adage good fences make good neighbors has never been more true

- The things being focused on are merely (as recently seen) low hanging fruit, instead of actual issues that affect the safety, security, and literally the continuation of our nation and our species.  Instead of eliminating gas stoves, how about working to recreate equal justice? Instead of giving away OUR money to illegal aliens who break the law, how about using that money to protect our own citizens? Instead of paying pensions to people creating the problem for 50 years, we start actually fixing what they broke?

- Those ‘threatening’ to leave the country when Trump is re-elected: don’t wait, do it now. We damn sure won’t miss you, and this move gives you the opportunity to prove you aren’t just a bloviating drama Queen.

Thursday-ish

 - Have any member of the ‘panel of historians’ stating Biden ranks among the best presidents ever, ever read…anything? Seriously 😂

- Having solved runaway crime, drug trafficking, homelessness, and most other societal ills, New York City tackles the most dangerous situation of our time: single use laundry and dishwasher pods. Apparently these things are so deadly they could wipe out our species.  Start spreading the news.

- In areas where governments encourage regular folks to house, feed, basically adopt illegal alien families, do those adoptive families receive any compensation? Insurance against theft, damage, etc? Do they get a refund on taxes generated specifically to offset illegal alien expenses?

- I just learned that a just struck match burns at about 1,120 degrees Fahrenheit.  That’s  pretty hot. Conversely dry ice maintains a temp of -109.3 degrees.  That’s pretty cold. We are exposed to some pretty wild temperature fluctuations yet still manage to survive.

- I often wonder who decides if we as a nation are better off than our parents and grandparents had it.  They had WW2, we have untold numbers of illegal invaders taking their own stock in lives and property; ancestors had arguably the best music, we have some seriously advanced technology involved in producing crap; they had single income families providing a good life, we have dual income families barely getting by each week; etc. What we seem to share in common are governments being more civil masters than civil servants, corruption in every aspect of life, and (I think) a declining ability to appreciate life and its blessings.

- I’ve long believed the smell test to be most reliable, in that if reports from whoever just don’t seem right chances are they aren’t reliable. Case in point: a British team of ‘scientists’ recently announced that hormone enriched milk from transgender women is just as good for infants as natural breast milk. Does this seem believable? Of course not, but here we are. The questions I have about this include: who thought this was necessary? Who thought it was believable? Who do they think will benefit from this?

Another aspect is hormones in general. For countless generations humans ate meat and grains with no artificial hormones, now just about every consumable product has been injected by God knows what…and  from what I see, the hormones used to fatten up cattle and fowl have been passed along to us in the food chain, resulting in we the people being fattened up in similar ways to what we eat. How can 60 years of hormones directly consumed and passed along by genetics be good for us?  I suspect at some point we’ll see this practice as pretty maladaptive, but in the meantime we just keep getting more damaged (self included)

- Seen: I don’t mind old age, but the side effects can be brutal

- An Indiana couple has had their child removed by state child protective ‘services’ for failing to call the child by its chosen pronouns and gender opted name. To me, the criminals here  are the state people (none of whom were elected by anybody) and the bureaucracy scared to death of trans-Nazis. This kind of bullshit will continue until we the people put our collect foot either down or up someone’s butt.

- Also seen: I keep asking what LBGQT means. No one has given me a straight answer

- Why isn’t the word ‘lisp’ spelled ‘Lithp,’ how it sounds when affected by it?

Monday

 - Gun control only works when bad guys start obeying gun laws…which ain’t gonna EVER happen. Ever. Any talk about restricting our shall not be infringed rights is nothing more than pablum for those incapable of understanding this very basic concept.

- Theory: Few years ago, rioters, shoplifters, illegals,  false lawsuit filers, etc, were basically forgiven because the entities they were stealing from were not individuals but entities. That has spilled over to blatant theft and destruction being green lighted because the entity in question is seen as a bottomless pit of money, IE the government.

- This moral midget Fani Willis, Fulton Co GA DA who filed RICO charges against Trump, could not be any more corrupt if she tried.  Difference is she’s caught with her hands in the jar.  I’d hazard a guess exactly ALL ‘cases’ against Donald Trump are just as crooked, and will fall apart just like this one.  But, just like Hillary Clinton, no one will see jail or verifiable consequences.

- A 90 yr old woman was forced to step down as a volunteer from the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. The volunteer, with 60+ years as an unpaid advocate for MS, was kicked out because when she was directed to start using the stupidity of preferred pronouns, she had to ask what those were. The MS society declared she was unfit for duty as she violated DEI guidelines.

Never again will I give a plug nickel to them.

- A new to me disturbing trend in spam callers using bogus phone numbers: prepaid funeral services.  Pretty sure there is not an international call center for such things in Coyanosa TX (population 163)

- Regarding foreign aid: the US should cut off ALL funds to other nations, unless we have direct control of how those funds are spent. Put another way, if someone receives a federal grant and then misuses that money, chances are pretty good someone goes to jail. We should have the same rules in place for any money sent to any nation.  I as a taxpayer am fed up with 2d and 3d world ‘leaders’ having blank checks when we the people have dust in our wallets

- A couple of places in San Angelo have ‘rough road’ warning signs…the roads in question are in better shape than brand spanking new, just opened roads in Midland/Odessa.  The stretch of road in Midland county with the absolute worst trash and garbage collecting on the shoulders is the stretch of road adopted by the Midland Bar Association.  People here drive either 20 miles per hour over the posted speed limit, or 20 MPH under it. Gas is $2.85 a gallon here, $2.30 in San Angelo.

- Sacramento State baseball player has a weird way of getting in the record book. Seems the young man has appeared at bat 8 times this season, and has been hit by a pitch 7 of those 8 times.

Thursday?

 - Hopefully the Travis Kelsey memes have subsided by now.

- Speaking of the Super Bowl…we watched it via Paramount+ thru Amazon Prime.  OK, but it seems we were not subjected to several TV commercials, specifically the ones put on by beer companies. In one way I appreciated this, but in a different way, I’m not sure I appreciate this form of censorship…or any censorship. The vast majority of people are not wafer thin skinned crybabies who will collapse into a coma if exposed to something moderately different. I for one was a tad miffed at the so called black anthem, but didn’t pass out, cry, or anything else. I got up for a trip to the kitchen.  It’s not difficult

- Right on cue, media and hyper liberal democrats are claiming Hur’s report about biden is inaccurate since he’s not a neurologist.  OK then, let Hur come out and say he isn’t a neurologist, Biden is not out of his mind, and file criminal charges. In college, no one in Psych 101 is a psychologist yet everyone understands the concept of learned helplessness, in which none of the available options will alleviate hostile environmental conditions.

- The other day I was in the mens department of an upscale store…I didn’t see what I was looking for, a grey ish brown bar of a personal hygiene product on a hemp based twine of heavy string. So I asked the lady behind the counter “do you have taupe soap on a dope rope?” She said nope, and went back to folding shirts.  I was downtrodden but determined to recover on how to deal with his, a period of cope hope.

Not really…none of that happened, but I do wonder whatever happened to soap on a rope

- I don’t understand most modern language.  No, I don’t want to go for A coffee. A signifies singular, and I’ll probably want much more. Purposely misapplying verbs (she be going? WTH) makes my suspect the speaker/writer is striving to be ignorant. But whatever toots your horn.

- Sen John Cornyn, Texas sort on a Republican, has proven yet again he doesn’t understand…he voted to pass the $50billion package called Immigration something or other, all the while knowing the VAST majority of funds goes to protect Ukrainian borders while essentially ignoring ours.  Never again will he receive a vote from our household

- A huge estate called Gordon Pointe outside Naples FL is for sale…the asking price of $295 million would be the most expensive realty exchange in history.  Pass. Just the lawn is bigger than our entire block, three ginormous houses, surrounded by water on 3 sides. The excessive everything is just outside of my ability to understand.

- A California (duh) democrat (duh) state representative running for the US Senate (duh) wants to enact legislation to raise the minimum wage to $50 an hour. Stupid people in high places is why we can’t have nice things.

- I’m thinking the American dream became pretty much past tense when Bill Clinton left office. Yes, he was impeached for lying to us, but things really have been out of control since then. 9/11, wars based on unrelated stuff, media emerging as policy makers, police, and judges, Occupy, BLM, the insanity of George Floyd’s reaction, democrats throwing the constitution out because they can’t get things done legally, immigration becoming a multinational invasion force, inflation in the process of erasing peoples lives…

- I wonder what the security clearance of janitorial staff at the CIA, NSA, etc is.  Guys with mops and toilet brushes exposed to some of the planet’s most sensitive information doesn’t bother me…people in congress with that same information scares the hell out of me.

Another Manic Monday, Or A Continuation of the Last One?

 - Getting a haircut is a strange thing.  Weird noises, gray stuff piling up, and I invariably feel like a 5 year old boy setting in the chair.

- I seriously wonder who still believes biden is in control of his mind, especially after saying he met with foreign leaders who’ve been long dead. Even his own ‘justice’ department says he’s a feeble old man.  8 million votes my ass.

- Colorado Nazis are trying to keep Donald Trump off their ballots because of insurrection charges, of which he’s never been found guilty of…or tried…even charged with. A couple of SCOTUS members asked plaintiff about the madness of having one state decide the outcome of a national election. Glad they are actually paying attention *now* as we’ve had the one state decisions for decades.

- It’s being reported that a trans woman, who converted to Islam, is suing her former partner to regain custody of his testicles, which had been stored in the refrigerator the couple shared.  The now feminine Muslim convert goes by the name of “Dee” now, and yes, while testifying in an initial hearing referred to the objects in question as Dees nuts. I have no clue if true or not. Doesn’t matter, this is some funny stuff

- Seen: my pants seems looser. Don’t know if I’m losing weight or if the elastic waistbands are just giving out

- The line between malicious spreading of known lies and genuine errors seems to have been forever erased.  When did this start? Who knows, but it needs to go away.  Humility goes a long way, as does admitting mistakes when you make them. Media should learn this…government should learn this…science researchers should learn this. At times it feels like *forcing* a position in lieu of truth already makes that position detrimental, if not devastating, for our nation and our species.

- A couple of GOP observers are saying the real (and only) reason chose K Harris as VEEP was because she was a guaranteed impeachment and 25th Amendment firewall.  Damn, y’all! I said the *exact* same thing when Obama was president, as look at the plagiarizing toe jam that would have ended up with the nuclear football…but no. An alleged 81 million votes ‘said’ otherwise.

If there’s any lessons to be learned, they would include a) don’t vote for proven idiots, b) don’t trust the election system while it’s so easy to commit fraud, and c) the people who count the votes should be scrutinized closer than the candidates

- Played a gig the other night in which some shorter than me fellow was dancing with as many willing ladies as he could find.  He would bump into chairs, other people on the floor, you name it. I thought he was just a lousy, probably drunk guy. Wasn’t til the next day my loving wife pointed out the man is blind. Shows what I know, huh.

- Read an article on some financial pages about some guy who bought a brand spanking new fully tricked out Chevy Silverado truck…big whoop, right?  The buyer bought the truck and will be paying $3000 a month for 96 months. That’s a house payment for a BIG home.  The truck will ultimately cost $288,000 plus maintenance.  Some people are insane

- A member of Canada’s parliament, their version of government, introduced a bill last week that would make it a crime to say, write, or promote nice things about oil, coal, gas, and nuclear power sources.

- Proving yet our control of illegal aliens is just superficial lip service: a Mexican ‘man,’ having been deported 5 times already, ran over a young girl just getting out of school. She ultimately died, this piece of shit fled the scene, subsequently re-re-re-re-rearrested. As we are now seeing, scenes like this are being repeated all over the nation. IF ANYONE IN FEDERAL GOVERNMENT GAVE A SINGLE RATS ASS ABOUT THESE VICTIMS, THEY WOULD SEAL OUR BORDERS.  But, we see that no one in DC is even remotely concerned about illegal aliens, their fast track techniques of decimation, or the wake of victims they leave behind.  No one cares. It’s up to each of us to protect ourselves.

Thursday…Ridiculous Continues

 - A British ‘lawmaker’ has introduced ‘legislation’ to allowed dead people to have the gender on their death certificates changed.

- Been seeing the name Jelly Roll pop up a lot as a country singer.  Finally looked up his stuff.  He may be talented, extremely successful, unique in story and appearance...but he dang sure sure aint a country singer.  Come ON!

- I do wonder sometimes the kind of life people lead who ‘contribute’ several million dollars to political figures.  How friggin much money do they have, anyway? Are contributions seen as altruism or buying a seat at the big table? As I understand it, political contributions are NOT tax deductible, so exactly what compels people to spend millions each election cycle?  Whatever it is, I wish they’d stop.

- Seriously looking to rent to own a 20x30x15 (est) building on our property.

- You know those detachable AC cords that come with everything? Seems I’ve been collecting them, for quite a while. Must have tossed out at least 50 of them while doing some rearranging chores in the detached garage.

- Its kind of futile to pay much attention to politics right now. Pretty much everything is out of our touch, out of our control, and out of our ability to understand.  What we do understand will most likely become moot and forgotten the closer we get to November. As I see it, most of us have already made up our minds, regardless of a billion dollars of advertising; no one not clinically insane will actually vote FOR biden; the same issues we have now just cannot be implemented with any degree of acceptable timeliness

- A partially burnt scroll recovered from Mt Vesuvius in the 1700s has been deciphered by a team of 3 students.  They did this monumental feat in 10 months. Smart folks, right there.

- Seems the Air Force is trying to recruit upper rank officers and enlisted personnel from their rolls of retirees. Most needed include pilots, instructors at service academies and bases, those with actual leadership experience, and so on. USAF is already paying retainer bonuses up to $50,000.  This move coupled with dismal recruiting reported by all branches doesn’t give me a lot of hope for the inevitable WW3

- An airline pilot noticed there was a chicken running around the plane, so he asked the co-pilot, ‘why is there a chicken on the place?’  Co pilot responded because ‘I wanted to make chicken jokes, and the hen justifies the memes.’

Monday, 5 February 2024

 - Wise words: even if you aren’t the star of the show, someone is always watching you. Live up to it

- The system, as we know, is pretty busted up. One thing in particular is partisanship.  People no one voted for either enacting or ignoring laws written by people we did vote for is IMO a travesty of idiocy.  I completely understand appointments based on political kinship, but there is, or should be, a limit, even for the wealthiest and well connected bureaucrats.  At some point, if we are to survive, the questions of ‘who voted for you?’ and ‘does this override any existing laws?’ MUST be answered,

- Some collective calling itself the “Journal of Medical Ethics” published an article recently arguing that pregnancy can be deemed a disease. This is where we are: so called medical practitioners trying to convince us commoners that the way our species propagates and sustains its existence is a disease, therefore should be cured and stamped out. It continues to appear that the more education one has, the dumber one becomes.

- Speaking of medicine (this time positively) Wednesday  I checked into a local hospital for something called an extended sleep study. The told me NO caffeine after 11AM🤬 . So I reported as directed, caffeine free, prepared to spend all night and most of Thursday there. Upon arrival, I was connected to over 25 wires attaching to sensors stuck to my skin, head to foot.  After being awakened at 5:30AM Thursday I was instructed to stay awake for 90 mins, then try to ‘nap’ for 30 minutes, repeating this cycle 5 times.

Still no coffee, bare minimum food, no cigs except when I met Deb in parking lot. Walking through a facility wired like an old fashioned telephone junction, carry a large electronic box, with exhaustion and annoyance all over my face, some people saw me and rapidly got out of my way. I wonder how many thought I was carrying a large bomb?

Anyway, results forthcoming, but if your doctor wants you to have such a sleep study, make him/her PROVE that you will immediately die if you don’t. Otherwise, it ain’t worth it

- One of Deb’s friends posted on social media ‘my taste in men is so bad it should be considered a disability.’ Sorry, but this is funny as heck.

- The recently defunded UN group that participated and acted with the Hamas invasion of Israel has been nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize. Are we paying attention yet?

- Interesting… the world’s most expensive spice, saffron, is produced in Tahoka, a smallish farming community just south of Lubbock. Wow

- Seen: ever taken your glasses off and thought if it weren’t for optometry, natural selection would have killed me off decades ago?

- Consider: waiting several days to even acknowledge Iranian backed soldiers killing American servicemen, then announcing retribution was coming, is not only stupid tactics, it was announcing to enemy forces there would be action, so move your guys out of harms way. As we (should have) learned in Vietnam telling enemy forces when we were striking is futile at best, most likely treacherously cowardice. Might be a good time to remember our president was already an active political dweeb back then too.

Wednesday

 - SCOTUS unanimously stated states do NOT have Constitutional authority to prohibit national candidates.  The thing that amazes me is it to...
